Manhattan Diner — Restaurant in New York

Absolutely disgusting food and reprehensible communication with the manager. I ordered an omelette and French toast for delivery today Sunday 4/7 and every single thing was dangerously undercooked. The French toast was so raw that it fell apart in my hands when I picked it up to look at it more closely. It looked like cold, curdled eggs. I’ve never seen French toast look like that. It was clearly put in the batter for way too long, and then cooked for way too short of a time. The eggs for the omelette were so undercooked that you could actually see the egg yolk in between the cold cheese and the outside of the omelette. The cheese was still in its uncooked square form, it was unbelievable to see. AND there were egg shells in the omelette that were visible! Even the hashbrowns were so undercooked that they were all completely white and translucent. There was no sign of them on a frying pan at all.

I called to talk to the manager to see if they could replace it, and he did not apologize, he did not offer for it to be replaced, he offered no solution whatsoever. Insanely apathetic, cold human being. He said that it was probably cold, because Uber took too long, even though the issue was not at all that the food was cold, it was completely undercooked. In fact, the Uber delivery person arrived extremely quickly from the location, which is only eight blocks away from me. He said they have their own delivery people, but that they do not deliver that. All they had to do was have one of their delivery people ride eight blocks to remedy a disgusting order, and they completely refused. I would highly recommend not eating here, this place...

I normally don’t leave reviews for a reason, but I feel like this needs to be said I went to this establishment about a week ago and the reason why I chose this diner specifically was because I used to work around the area and I’ve been there before the service the last time was OK the second time that I’ve came here the service was not the greatest I went with a friend to have a nice little day and the service definitely lacked when we went in, we waited like 3 to 5 minutes to get a seat and we sat in the back, which was cool, but our server could’ve been better. I felt as though we were being rushed to order And wasn’t giving enough time to really see what else was on the menu, but I ended up ordering anyway I noticed my server was very on top of his other tables and not once checked up on my table to see if our meal was OK if we needed a re-up on our drinks nothing he also forgot my dates Drink And laughed and stated that he didn’t hear us but OK I digress as a Spanish woman and seeing how everyone else was being taken care of I genuinely didn’t appreciate it. What I will say moving forward is I will not be coming back here. I hope the owner sees this And definitely takes this into account because we are the ones who are supporting...

Very disappointed with this place. Ordered a cup of the clam chowder, which was the soup of the day and it was pretty good. Unfortunately the burger I ordered “The Manhattan Diner Burger” was a complete joke. Allegedly it comes with caramelized onions and a special sauce, but the ice cold onions were hidden under a slice of cheese glued to the bun with no sauce anywhere to be found. And though I ordered the burger medium rare, it came out pretty much raw. Thankfully for me I’m fine with extremely rare beef, so I was annoyed but not completely turned off. The beef seemed to be decent quality, but there was almost no seasoning at all. My friends got breakfast foods and they all seemed to enjoy themselves so maybe if you do decide to come breakfast is the way to go. I usually stick with a restaurants specialty, but thought I would be safe ordering the signature burgers. I was wrong. All of this would normally warrant a 3 star review because the food while not amazing certainly wasn’t 2 star. What knocks off the additional star was the completely terrible rude service we received. Rude waitress who rarely was even seen. Granted she was busy, but when she would come around was rude and short with us. Decor is nice, maybe only come if you are going...
