Sweetleaf Coffee Roasters — Restaurant in New York

My fiance and I come to your coffee shop almost daily. And especially during COVID we want to support local shops. However recently when I come in with my dog, who is a service animal, and I am told to leave and I inform the barista he is a service animal, I get the nastiest look and I am looked up and down. This happened TWICE this week. I understand the need to check but they don't even ask, they assume and when I inform them, I made to feel extremely uncomfortable. It's not professional and if it's a concern about the health department, I would love to know how quickly the health department will be showing up right now during a global pandemic for such concern. So truly how does having my service animal in a coffee shop for 3 minutes affect them? I love your coffee but I don't need the dirty looks and will find...

This beautiful small cozy coffee in a high foot traffic spot area is definitely the place to be if you’re seeking a quick bite to eat and Coffee to start your morning. After exiting the 7 train, I immediately opened Yelp searching for a local coffee shop in Long Island City. Now I’m never in Long Island City nor do I come around. But this time I wanted to make it worth it. I came across Sweet Leaf and they definitely blew me away. The quality the various options of fresh baked goods and coffee beverages. I knew for a fact I started my morning just right after visiting. The bathroom were clean, the dining area was clean. My experience overall with my meal…. Perfect! The staff was great. Do you want coffee? We’ll look no further! What more can I say?

I have been a loyal customer but what is this service charge sweetleaf??? I understand this is bad economy, but you can not automatically charge people for “service fee” at a coffee shop, especially when it’s just a takeout order. Also your barista today is very rude, when I ask her what is it she rolled her eye and said “I don’t know what it is it’s just there today” and then I said “are baristas gonna get this money or the store?” She replied she will get the money. Her speech is not consistent. If you don’t know what is this fee then why would you know the money will goes to you? I’m posting this not because of the money, but this barista’s attitude and your lack of transparency on coffee price. Will spread the word and won’t come...
