Uncle Vinny's Pizza — Restaurant in New York

I am absolutely appalled by the service at this establishment. I have been getting pizza here since it was Best Pizza II and then it mysteriously changed to Uncle Vinny's seemingly overnight. I still went to this location, as I thought the pizza was good.

I was hosting a part on Sunday night and placed an order for 3 pies and a half tray of salad for $146. I placed this order at 2pm for deliver at 7pm. This order was confirmed by the restaurant. At 7:20pm, my order hadn't arrived, so I called for a status update. The man that answered the phone told me that he didn't have an order for me, told me he was "very busy," and abruptly hung up. I called the delivery driver and he said he'd been at the pizza place for 40 minutes waiting for my order and that they were not communicating with him a timeline. I called the restaurant back and the same man answered. He asked for my information and then asked if the order was for a completely different address. Once I confirmed my actual order, he said that it wasn't ready and would be another 40 minutes before it was ready. This was absolutely unacceptable. at this point, the order was already about 30 minutes late and I had company over. The man on the phone was incredibly rude and he hung up on me. I called back again and he didn't answer. I called the delivery driver and told him I was going to cancel the order if I could get into contact with the restaurant. I called back the restaurant again and he confirmed that it'd be 40 minutes and was unable to fulfill the order ASAP. There was absolutely no explanation as to why they confirmed the order 5 hours prior yet could not fulfill it on time.

I don't buy this. I'm from Long Island. Pizza takes about 10 minutes to make and I live one block away. At most it should have been 15 minutes and he should have offered to prioritize this order since it was already late with no notice. On top of that, the man I spoke with was INCREDIBLY rude and dismissive.

I will literally never order from this establishment again and highly recommend others stay away from this restaurant. Rudest employees who do not uphold confirmed orders or try to make things right. This was an expensive order and I'm so disappointed that they made no effort to fix the issue, and just made it worse by being incredibly rude.

Don't know whether the food is any good, but they made a big mistake and used GrubHub for delivery and the order never arrived. Nonetheless, the GrubHub delivery person sent a fraudulent photo of a brown bag claimed to have been delivered to my doorman building. No delivery was made, and who ever heard of a pizza being packaged in a brown bag???? Uncle Vinny needs to rethink his delivery service and dump GrubHub!

Addendum: tried again today. Vinnie suggested Door Dash but the website wouldn't let me schedule delivery so I reluctantly defaulted to GrubHub. This time GrubHub made it (an event that is becoming increasingly rare as the ratings here show. Someone at GH needs to do some serious thinking about how they do business). Fortunately as this time was a charm and we actually got to taste Uncle Vinnie's pizza which was, in a word DELICIOUS! The sauce was intense and flavorful with a little sweetness that accented the sausage, roast peppers and olives on our Margherita pizza. Now if Vinnie can figure out a reliable delivery...

I brought a pizza pie today. First thing I notice was that there were no familiar faces that I knew. Vinny is Italian. I know him personally. The employees were Indian. So I asked is it under new management and at first until I asked him where was Vinny? That’s when he told the truth and said it was under new management. Got to work to share the pizza pie with my colleague and we started eating. The pizza was burnt but we were hungry so we ate until one of my colleagues came to me and showed me that there was a metal wire that cut her mouth in the pizza. See photo below. Do not order from this establishment. The pizza was horrible and the employee attempted to tell me that the iron piece came from the sauce…. Huhhhh…. Excuse me…. Could you kindly give me my money back????...
