Absolutely terrible experience and ruined my only day in Newport. I was able to spend a few hours passing through and decided to stop in for lunch. Place seemed promising but the service was some of the worst! I walked in and it took forever to be a knowledge by staff which was upsetting due to the sign by the door telling you to wait for a host. I had to flag someone down to which I let them know I will be seating outside and they said that is fine and they will be with me in a moment. I took a menu and proceeded outside. I waited almost 20 mins (there were only two other people seated outside and this was for lunch so they were not slammed busy either) before going inside to see if they would send someone out. It was obvious they forgot about me cause they asked if I wanted a menu to which I told them I already got one earlier and am ready to order. They told me they would send someone out for me shortly. Almost 20 mins again passed before a waiter came out to serve the other two tables out there (one table to deliver food and another table to bring a check to) she looked up surprised to see me before going inside to grab a notebook and come out to grab my order which made it obvious they forgot about me a second time. I placed my order which was a simple meal and a beer. I got just my food served by kitchen staff which was fine but they forgot my beer. I waited about 10 mins expecting it to come out separately before getting irritated and just started eating my food. I was eating for over 30 mins and not once did anyone come check on me, bring me my drink, or offer a check. I was there for over a hour in total and was forgotten about 3 times and never even got the drink I ordered. Was the worst service ever, so bad in fact I actually decided to leave this review. If you are down in Newport don't waste your time here you...

I am not sure if my husband and I just ended up coming to Nana’s on an off night but we will not be returning. Our server was very negligent, she spent more time behind the bar talking with her friends who had come in than anything else. The food didn’t have its well known flavor and we left incredibly disappointed.

We visited on Saturday from 3:45-6 PM and it was very quiet, only 2 other couples were dining in the front when we arrived. We were seated quickly which was great and our server came to take a drink order and appetizers and when she came back with our drinks and and apps, she didn’t return for nearly 40 minutes. She was behind the bar talking to friends. We weren’t sure what to do and it had been 20 minutes between finishing our appetizers and then finally flagging her down to come take our main course order. She made eye contact with my husband and I several times and we had tried to let her know we were ready, to which she turned around and did other things. We weren’t rude to her and my husband left her a generous tip in spite of the poor service. No one came to check on us and she didn’t bother to check on the other customers who were in her section either. After she had taken our meal order we didn’t see her again until our bill arrived at 5:45.

The food was bland and I had two hairs that were not my own in my fish and chips.

None of the staff were blatantly rude, just incredibly negligent on the front end side. This was the first date night my husband and I have been able to have in nearly a year and we drove from Otis, really looking forward to a wonderful experience. Sadly we will not be returning.

From the other reviews, we may have just ended up on a bad night; nevertheless we won’t be coming back. Wishing a much better experience for...

This is a wonderful place to grab a pint, or even an entire meal! Not only do they serve all the traditional Irish items, but they have a few extras as well. All of the food we had was absolutely wonderful, and I'd gladly have it again (we went back a few days later just to try new items and those were all wonderful as well). A couple things that Nana's Irish Pub does that really sets them apart is that kids eat FREE. And I don't mean just a couple fries or a lame hot dog -- but a full on meal. You get to choose one item from three columns to craft a meal for your kid. Mashed potatoes, chicken tenders, scrambled eggs, fruit and apple slices, etc. Possibly the most impressive "kids eat free" we've ever experienced -- because the kids food was actually very tasty as well. The service here was good, although the first time we arrived the poor lady who greeted us looked like she'd never seen children before and didn't know how to handle us. I think the problem is that it was about 8:15 PM and we didn't realize that at 9:00 PM in this part of Oregon (or maybe all parts) you can't have children in any establishing that serves hard liquor. We just make sure to arrive extra early on our second visit (because we HAD to come here a second time, and will try for a third before we leave the area). The staff was all very friendly and helpful. On our second visit, the man who seated us made it a point to make sure we knew about the children's free menu. It's nice that they're offering it and supporting it as well. We had everything from the fish and chips (outstanding -- great big chunks of beautiful flaky fish) and the stews (pot pies, etc.) were amazing and crazy-tasty. We loved every bite and would recommend this place to anyone who even remotely likes...

First time visiting this charming & inviting restaurant this day Saturday 10 Jun 2023. I ordered the Chocolate Brandy Bread Pudding & the Black Bean Burger. First off, the Chocolate Brandy Bread Pudding was downright divine & perfect balance of chocolate & bread pudding flavor. It was also topped with actual factual whipped cream & dusted with cinnamon. This bread pudding will warm your heart & taste buds! The Black Bean Burger is fully vegan, so no beef whatsoever. Just black beans, corn & spices. Very delicious as well & cooked perfectly. Taste was amazing! The bun they put it on is a light flakey french type bread best described as croissant like without the croissant flavor or butter. Their side of spicy mayo for the burger also goes great with the fries... Spicy yet not too much & no mayo flavor. I was referencing google map menu prices & since I only had a $20 bill on me, I asked Natasha my server if was enough to cover the two items. She replied the prices had since been updated & was just a couple more than the $20 total, to which I kindly asked her to take the burger off the order . She returned a moment later & stated she wanted me to really try the black bean burger & so she covered the extra few dollars. I thanked her several times throughout my afternoon lunch. Natasha S. Is very attentive, customer friendly & goes above & beyond to ensure her customers are taken care of. This goes for all the staff I observed including the gentleman who brought the burger to my table. I will be returning here again very soon in a few weeks when I visit town next! Thank you EVERYONE at Nana's Irish Pub for delivering such delicious food & stellar customer care! All y'all are AMAZING! Thank you all for all your hard work & customer service! It is truly appreciated!

Deceptive pricing totally ruined our meal here. Our multiple waitpersons never brought a check so I ran a person down to get it. I handed over my card to pay and was presented with no choice for a custom tip. The lowest choice was 18%. Annoying. I included the tip and paid the amount still never seeing the actual bill. I asked for the receipt. Walking out, I realized I was overcharged for every single item. I grabbed one of our waiters and asked why each of the items we ordered we were charged more for. She said she had no idea. I pressed her a bit more and she took me to the manager(?). That person said they charge more if you pay by credit card. I pointed out that nowhere did it say this. Not on the menus. Not when we paid. Nowhere. She said it was posted on the front door. She said they charged 3% more if you pay by card. I can accept that IF I KNOW IN ADVANCE. She really took an attitude with me for calling them out on it. She said all the business in Newport do it. I have no problem if I know in advance but here they post a teeny tiny barely legible sign on the front door that doesn’t even state how much they will up charge you to use a card. It took me a minute to even locate the tiny scotch taped sign that says they charge different prices for card purchases. The up charge percentage amount is not defined and left at their discretion. They can charge you 20% more for card purchases. It’s up to them. Yep, sure enough. The percentage they used on my bill was higher than the 3% the manager said it was. It’s so deceptive and hidden that even the servers don’t know the customers are being scammed. End of day it’s just another five or ten dollars deceptively stolen out of my pocket. Might jingle the attorney general’s office. It feels so wrong.
