I enjoy the coffee, but my recent experience has been more than disappointing.
Let me be clear: I made a purchase, and EOTE's internet connection appeared to be failing. The barista asked to resubmit my debit card MULTIPLE times. This includes a charge after being chased into the hallway and asked to attempt the transaction AGAIN—this time using a different payment method. Now, over a month later, THREE charges remain, all for the same single bag of coffee. An in-person attempt to resolve the issue was met with a "Be back soon" sign, followed by a long wait that resulted in a kind employee attempting to help, claiming she had submitted a refund to my card, which still hasn't posted, and I'm left with resorting to leaving an honest review of an extremely disappointing experience. The employee claimed to be unable to refund other erroneous charges, and took my information and promised someone would follow up soon. That never happened. Instead, I received a text stating that the operations director claims there’s no record of the charges in their POS system and that I should dispute them with my bank.
That is unacceptable. EOTE's system failed. They confirmed the issue. I did my part and followed every reasonable step to resolve this directly. Attempting to shift the burden of error onto me to resolve through my bank says a lot.
I know I have spent more money and time at this place trying to resolve this issue, and than the company feels is worth their time resolving the issue.
EOTE - Do better. Others - Spend your money somewhere else, where they value how hard you worked for...
Read moreAtmosphere is fantastic, like perfect coziness, variety of seating options, great outdoor spaces, just really cool. Great merch and goods for sale. However, service and drinks fell short.
Espresso in my cortado had that burnt/bitter aftertaste to it, one of the less-good cortados I've had in awhile. My girlfriend's pecan spice latte was too sweet, lacked depth/balance. Both lacked in presentation. Our pastries were also mid.
Service was also disappointing. The two employees working here on this Sunday morning lacked friendliness/warmth. Felt more annoyed/inconvenienced by our presence (and it was not busy at all). Didn't leave a great impression.
This was our first time here. I know Eote roasts and supplies to a lot of different local restaurants and whatnot. After our visit today, it definitely feels like that's probably their main focus, and the drink making here for the individual customers is an afterthought. And maybe for them that's good business. But for us, it's not a return visit.
Great space. Good enough coffee. Mid service. Better options in OKC than this for a good cup. Clarity and Elemental still topping the...
Read moreThe space is incredible - wow. So beautiful, so moody. Lots of room for large groups to gather and have a meeting or study. The merchandise was AWESOME. I got a sticker and this super soft cropped tan hoodie. I loved the logo and the design elements there.
However, I was really disappointed in the coffee quality. I was warned before coming that the space is amazing, but the coffee was not great. I think that was an accurate review. The espresso was really burnt, the milk was definitely over steamed. I ended up throwing away my coffee after only a few sips, which I never do. I hate wasting anything.
It’s sad because the space is so incredible and lends itself to be one of the best coffee stops in the city, but then the coffee is just not well made. I wondered if it was just the day I happened to go, if maybe someone new was being trained, but my local Oklahomies said that it’s standard that the coffee is bad. People just buy the coffee so they can use the...
