Was that deliberate? I don’t know if we did something to offend you but I can’t imagine someone making food that bad on accident. We love Med food and have been to dozens of Med restaurants all over the US and this was horrific. I was trying to be nice when I said that the food was acceptable other than the lamb but that was because I was trying to be polite. The lamb chops were truly inedible. It had obviously turned, and the other meat on the kebabs weren’t much better- if you’re trying to save money you should just edit your menu. I’ve eaten mutton from a wool sheep that I didn’t spit out, but I had to spit out yours. You should really talk to your supplier, or at least smell your food. Do you put peanut butter in your hummus? I’ve never had it like that before I ate at your restaurant, but I googled it and guess some people eat it that way. I prefer tahini. The dolma was pretty obviously canned, it was soaked in olive oil all the way through the rice. Of course fresh is better, even if you use packed grape leaves, which I don’t mind, but if you’re going to use canned, I suggest Sultan brand, it’s my favorite canned and it’s much less soggy than the kind you’re using. Were you mad because my wife asked where your hooka lounge was? We used to go to them when we were young, we were a little disappointed when you said that this location didn’t have one. A friend told us you did- maybe he was confused with the cigar shop across the way. I can’t really think of any other way we could have offended you to get such an obviously bad meal. Another thing that could have used a lighter touch was your tabbouleh. It was salty. I could barely taste the parsley, and that’s usually a pretty forward element on a good tabbouleh, it was also missing lemon? Maybe it was just the salt covering it up. The last Med food of note was the fattoush. I’m not trying to be mean but it really tastes like you’re using off-the-shelf Italian dressing, but maybe everything else was throwing off my tastes. It wasn’t bad, but it tasted like a house salad at some chain restaurant. Finally, the butter chicken wasn’t bad, but that’s not usually why someone goes to a Med spot, and now I’m beginning to suspect that that too, was packaged. Our waiter was kind, service was timely, the restaurant was clean and otherwise pleasant, the cook seemed nice when he came out. I didn’t think he’d listen to a full honest review so I decided to stick to the worst offender- That lamb was seriously sickening, and I’ve eaten some pretty questionable food in my time. Now maybe you’re still reading this and thinking ‘This cat doesn’t know Med food’. Maybe, and I’m certainly no expert, but we love Mediterranean food and to make a short list; we liked the two Med places (next to each other, strangely) we’ve been to in Wichita, a place in Missouri, the Lebanese place in Bethesda MD, the Egyptian place I went to in DC, the Med places in Seattle and Portland, all the little places up and down the west coast, Texas, NC and SC, the Israeli place in KC, and the countless Gyro shops all over and even the place in Yukon, OK was pretty decent, heck I even went to a pretty good place when we were stationed on Oahu and if you stretch the meaning of Mediterranean I’ve had Iraqi, Ethiopian, and Moroccan food that I respected even if I didn’t love the Ethiopian place. I’ve never eaten anything half this bad at any of them, and I’ve eaten some pretty overcooked falafel. It was very disappointing because we had such great food at the other places we had gone in the last couple of days of traveling. I kinda think that they deliberately did something to our food. I wouldn't go here again if they paid me. Seriously, did the cook think we were someone else? I’ve never been to this place before and have only been to OKC maybe a dozen times in my life, but this was like, personal. My suggestion if you go here; go...
Read moreThis place was 1 of 3 visited restaurants on our Dumpling Tour through Tasting Plates Food tour. We will never do a food tour with Tasting Plates again. It was poorly organized. We had to reach out for information on meeting location only to find out we had to drive around town and figure out the process on our own. Most tours have guides or structure to allow better service and experience. This tour would not be worth $20/person let alone it’s listed at $70/person originally. We got an early bird special of half off. The restaurants on the tour like ZamZam seemed to struggle on optimal customer service or cleanliness. There was only 1 fried dumpling but it was not at this restaurant. They served us fried falafel, not a dumpling, so it was disappointing. Tables were wiped down but still sticky. We waited and watched the party of 4 behind us get served and leave before we got our food. There were about four men working the restaurant and maybe four tables with people. They workers were very nice, but they did not know how to efficiently serve. We were served the appetizers at the same time as our meals. We were approached multiple times with the best service after we were done with our meal. They even approached us twice to ask us to if we wanted our ticket even after we paid. The food lacked a lot of flavor. The better chicken was very runny. It was more like tasteless soup. One of the lamb skewers tasted more like a hamburger. Will definitely not return as the food blood flavor and the service was confusing. on a good note, the servers...
Read moreThe moment I walked in, I was greeted so kindly — the staff here are genuinely friendly and make you feel welcome right away. It’s rare to find service like this where people actually seem happy to be there and take care of you.
The place itself has such a calm, clean, and cozy vibe. Whether you’re sitting down to eat or grabbing something to go, the whole atmosphere just feels relaxed and comfortable.
Now the food… incredible. I tried both the shawarma and the gyros, and I can honestly say they were some of the best I’ve ever had. The meat was juicy and flavorful, the sauces were spot-on, and everything tasted super fresh. You can tell they take pride in what they serve.
Highly recommend checking this place out. I’ll definitely...
