This is our 3rd visit over a year and we keep expecting something different but apparently we have to accept that Taphouse just isn’t it.
First, the drink menu didn’t reflect what was actually available, which was a letdown right away. If you’re advertising a selection, at least have it in stock. Then came the chips and dip, which were so stale they were practically inedible—definitely not what you’d expect from a place that seems to present itself as an upscale establishment.
The real disappointment, however, was the Caesar salad with “filet.” We specifically asked both the server and the manager about it and were assured it was real steak. What came out was nothing close—it was overcooked, dry, and had the texture of freezer-burned roast beef mixed with ground meat. It was unappetizing, misleading, and frankly, unacceptable for the price point.
On top of that, the service didn’t match the attitude of the staff. They acted as if this was a high-end restaurant, but the upstairs bar told a different story—dirty dish towels, abandoned drinks, general lack of cleanliness and a strong smell of bleach. If they want to charge premium prices, they need to deliver premium quality—not just in food but in cleanliness and service.
Overall, save yourself the trouble and skip this place, no matter how close it is to Paycom Center. There are plenty of other spots in OKC that actually deliver on what...
Read moreCame here for dinner and we were a large party of about 9 people. We all ordered our food at the same time and everybody else in my party got their meals pretty close together except for me! I didnt think much of it at first because I assumed mine would come out next, after about 10-15 Mins our waiter came around and was asking everybody how their food was. I spoke up and told him I haven't received mine yet and he told me that he would check on it. A few minutes later he comes back by and tells me that the food I ordered takes a while to cook, so okay, im thinking most restaurants still bring everybody's food out together even though it all has different cooking times. We were in they restaurant for about an hour and by the time I got my food everybody else was done and asking for checks, so I ate 2 fries and asked for a to-go box because we were trying to catch the streetcar by a certain time. Waiter didn't seem that apologetic just handed me the check and to go box. I wouldn't have left a tip if they hadn't already applied to our bill! This was suppose to be a fun weekend getaway but I feel that I kept running into problems at this hotel (see hotel review) I never got to try my food because the hotel doesn't have microwaves in the room and I tried to eat it cold but couldn't handle it...
Read moreWe chose Tap House so we could see if the sunset was any good. It was OK from the ground floor Apparently, the upper floor was rented out. My wife ordered a French 75. When the waiter brought the drink, it was obviously not a French 75. I'm not sure how often my wife has to explain how to make one but it's on her phone as soon as she opens Google Chrome! Lol Anyway, I had to take it to the bartender to show him how to make it. Fortunately, he was not offended at all (or did not let on that he was). When the second attempt arrived, it was a good one. So she had 2 just make sure... The food was great. We ordered the fire roasted cauliflower. I was sceptical but it was very good. We also ordered a steak sandwich that we split. We both enjoyed it very much. The really pleasant surprise were the 'fries'. They were a cross between curly-q fries and potato wedges. They were fried to perfection. We will definitely be going back. You should ask for Brady. Once we ordered he promised we would like it. He was right. But he also was able to talk to us about other foods that were not on the menu. I got the feeling he was working he way though culinary school! It wasn't busy so he was able to spend enough time with us to make us feel welcomed and comfortable without 'over staying...
