Social Capital — Restaurant in Oklahoma City

I want to share my experience with the staff of this establishment. Today was a terrible day for me. I had to work the Spring Pow Wow Event from 1:00pm - 5:30pm. It was very difficult to find a parking space when I arrived there, Downtown Oklahoma City. So I was relieved when I found a space behind the Social Capital building. There were several cars parking in that area, so when I saw a space available; I figured it was my luck. Imagine my shock when I came out from the event around 5:45pm and found that my car was missing. I went into the Social Capital and asked the staff if they know anything about my dilemma. The young woman behind the counter in the upstairs bar told me my car could have been towed because the building owner behind their establishment had done it many times before. So after many numerous phone calls to different towing companies as well as the police, I found that my car was towed many hours earlier by Young Towing Company and I would have to pay $244.50 to get my car before midnight. At this point my phone was definitely in need of charging. So I went back inside the Social Capital again, lower level bar and asked if I could charge my phone. The young man behind the counter just asked for my phone when he realized that it was an iPhone and unplugged his iPad and charged my phone for me. Although, I had my charger in my purse; I did not have time to pull it out. I was very touched by that action. I was in there for more than 30 minutes until my friend arrived to pick me up. None of the staff bothered me or asked me if I wanted to buy anything there. Somehow, they just sensed that I was in distress. The young woman from the upstairs bar that I had spoken with earlier even came down and asked if I had located my car. Although, I had graciously thanked them for their kindness before leaving, I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude in details. You all have proven to me there are still kindness and empathy in this day and age. I just wish the owner of the rundown building behind your establishment would display a little heart. This is the first time in my life anything like this has happened, but it was less stressful because of people like your staff out there. Thank you so much for your kind gesture. Capitol Social: A Festive Oasis with Delicious Bites and Endless Brews

Although I have seen and passed by this place many, many times, I finally gathered some friends so that we could make our way to go check it out.

Needless to say, my first visit to Capitol Social was a memorable one. The crisp evening December air and the festive Christmas atmosphere created a magical vibe for us all. Despite the cold, which no one seemed to mind, the place was buzzing with energy, both inside and out, especially since they had the out door heating going as well as the snow machine which actually fooled many of us for a moment as we stood and socialized in the bar line that stretched out the door. Everyone was smiling and having fun meeting new people as they shuffled in and out of the crowded spaces and to and from the rooftop seating, which was packed with merry patrons.

The food was an absolute delight, the housemade tacos were perfectly crispy, and the nachos were the best I've ever had. The generous portions and fresh ingredients were a welcome surprise.

With a staggering 108 beers on tap, the selection is truly impressive. While navigating the menu by number instead of beer type might seem daunting, it adds to the unique experience. The sheer joy radiating from everyone around me was a testament to the quality of the brews and the overall atmosphere. We bought several flights with 4 oz pours, and none of us were disappointed by the drinks.

I left Capitol Social, feeling festive and content, and already planning my return visit. The oversized nachos and the endless beer options are calling my name, and I can't wait to experience the magic again.

I give an honest 3 stars. I wish I could give a 2 1/2 stars, but I will remain fair. Food was great, drinks were great. My main complaint is the service me and my table received. Obviously not the whole staff, just specifically the guy who brought out our tacos. Cinco de mayo. Didn't get his name, but he was wearing a black hat, green tee shirt. He had glasses and a beard, was wearing a gaiter around his neck. We got our tacos, and we're a little confused cause we thought we had ordered 3 al pastor tacos, but received 2 (most likely just our mistake or a simple miscommunication) but we went and asked about it, and the green shirt guy came to our table, and sassily said, "there's your 2 al pastor tacos right there" we explained that we had thought we ordered 3, he pulled out the receipt and told us it said 2. We said we thought we ordered 3, but it was fine and asked if we could get another one, he said "I'll go get you another one." He came back about 8 minutes later (pretty quick) with another al pastor taco, walked up to our table and tossed it onto the table, only saying "Here." Obviously annoyed, turned and walked away. We were extremely thankful and said "it was most likely our mistake and you can just put it on our tab we have open cause we will pay for it" and the man didn't turn around, didn't say anything, just walked away with an annoyed shrug and gave us a thumbs up. Not even turning his head. I understand there are bad days, or people can be dealing with things or just be stressed. But that still is no excuse to treat customers with disrespect like that, in a professional work...
