IHOP — Restaurant in Ontario

Usually my mom and I go to have that very delicious cappuccino, along with yummy pancakes. Well on this visit it was all BAD 😞. First off, we got our cappuccinos which we're not foamy at all (isn't foam what makes a cappuccino? 🤔) It was more like a poor tasting lukewarm cup of Joe. Mom likes her coffee hot but it wasn't close to being hot for her taste.... cappuccino RUINED 😢. Then the pancakes🤦‍♀️oh nooooo, we ordered a full stack to share. When I pulled off my two panqueques, they came apart and crumbled. That should have been a red 🚩flag. Well I poured my syrup and went in for a bite....🫤😕🙁😐😑 tasted like pancake mix powder 😮‍💨 not good at all, didn't even taste like butter 😢💔 but being hungry I ate one pancake ($14 for a full stack 🥞smh 💸🚽). Next we ordered the biscuit egg, cheese, bacon, sandwich....worst idea ever. So as it is I don't like any biscuits from these types of places but mom loves biscuits so we ordered it. I take a bite and epic failure!!!! Oh no no noooo it too tasted like biscuit powder 😮‍💨ughhh such a sad sad meal we had that day (another $13 or so down the 💸🚽🤦🏻‍♀️. And what made it worse was since everything is quite expensive nowadays well we expected quality and deliciousness instead we got stuck with a $50 bill and nasty powder tasting leftovers which we didn't end up eating 🥞🚽. My poor mom and I got grossed out 🤢🤢. Sad to say the server wasn't mean but she wasn't very nice either. I suppose she was just doing her job and called it a day. Not what you'd expect from IHOP and as I said what we paid didn't make it a pleasurable experience. Very sad to say that since this is the only IHOP that has the café we make an effort to go here but this will no longer be the case. Came here tonight (Saturday 11/25) for late night dinner after midnight. I would have scored higher but because of lack of staff I scored lower. I feel bad for the server as he was the only 1 with only 1 cook and 1 person to clean. This score is a reflection of a greedy bad upper management. Many people were waiting which affected their service. It’s a Saturday night. How could u leave your restaurant to have a skeleton crew. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Your poor 3 crew members were doing their best to serve all of us. Some people left because they couldn’t wait any longer which you lost business. After waiting 15-20 minutes to be seated, had to wait another 10-15 minutes to get our order, and then had to wait for another 20-30 minutes to get our food, and had to wait again for our check and to pay. Again, my complain is not at all with the skeleton crew who were working so hard at this location. My complain is the lack of compassion and management from upper management. Also, that poor server lost his voice for working alone. Because of lack of staff, asking for refill for water was hard to get by. Asked for condiments took a while too because again he was by himself. Btw, you should also know that the famous comedian Gabriel Iglesias was in town. Many families I saw were waiting but had to leave because of long wait.I’m just hoping that other people will give a good tip even though he couldn’t really serve us well because he was by himself. If you are looking for a good IHOP to treat your family consider this location across the street of the Ontario Mills Mall. My previous experience with other Ihops was nothing to write about until now. I have been to this IHOP 42 times in 2022 and 12 times already this year and I must admit I have zero negative feedback for you. The place is always clean, the food always arrives hot and the service has always been good at least 8 of 10. I go there for the food So service is not high on my list of priorities as long as my food gets to my table hot and fresh is what I care about. I fed my family of 4 for around $60 with tip. My 2 Girls prefer to order from the value menu. My usual order is either Chicken fried steak dinner or Cheese omelette with mushrooms, bell peppers and onions. IHOP is known for it's breakfast and I must say the pancakes are top notch but there is a new plate on the menu I highly recommend... IHOP now has crepes. My Girls love the crepes with strawberries. They ask for whippedcream and a side of bacon with their crepes. If you come here for a good value, try the value menu you will be surprised of the amount of food you get for under $10. If you go any day around lunch time, expect to wait a little longer for your food and the service my suffer a bit. I recommend going afternoon after 3pm to take advantage of the valve menu and less crowded dinning room. My wife asked me to mention the Belgian waffle, she orders it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Come for the delicious hot food and come for the good service that IHOP...
