I’m going to start this review by saying that the food was amazing. We dined in as a family and the only thing I would say that was disappointing was the service from our server specifically, which defines why I am giving a 2 star overall review. We got sat down at our table by the host and our server came out and grabbed our drink orders. We did say we were still viewing the menu so we took the time to look it over and decide what we would eat. First, 20 minutes past. Then, 30 minutes. We started looking around us and the restaurant was not even half empty. This made us concerned on what was taking so long to take our orders. Finally, at 45 minutes later we see our server come out and take our orders. We don’t comment on why she took so long as we are polite and respectful and thought nothing of it. Now, as we are eating our food, we started running low on drinks and needed refills (anyone who eats hot dishes knows you need to stay hydrated)… our server never came to check on us and we had to ask the bus boy who was cleaning to help us. He happily did a great job at that but we expected our server to be the one to provide service for us. We started getting suspicious of why our server has been lacking on service. Throughout the time of eating our food, another server who was very kind (not our server) she decided to help us and give us drinks, basically she started taking over our server’s job when she was next to us. This server asked us if there was anything she could help with and she did this on her own. Obviously, the server we were assigned has some issues with customer service and with not being trained good.
We did leave a very good tip for our server in the end, only because we felt bad for her co workers who ended up doing her job. I wish that I could request a different server next time. This was my family’s first time dining at Carrabas and will be the last time dining at just this location. A lot of people have many different views and opinions.
In MY opinion,
If I am paying over $25-30 per plate, I deserve to have the best service along side that. Especially at any carrabbas. There are only few occasions in high end dining when I give grace to lack of good service . Those times being when 1- The restaurant is very busy and not staffed. 2-when there is an issue or something effecting the server doing their job. Any other time, it’s hard to know why there is a lack of good service. You pay for what you get. That’s what I...
Read moreIt is difficult to decide where to begin. We visit Carrabba's Restaurant located at 5475 Gateway Village Cir Suite 103, Orlando, FL 32812 frequently. Our visit on 3/6/2022 was terrible to say the least. When we arrived, there was no one at the front desk. We waited for what seemed to be forever and finally some guy that needed a haircut and shower said I will be with you in a few minutes. He never took my name or anything else. When we were seated, we waited over 10 minutes to be waited on. The entire staff appeared to be disheveled. After taking our orders, our waiter Gio disappeared but I managed to ask another waiter to have him return. We were given a complimentary appetizer from our last visit so we ordered Calamari. It was not golden brown like the last Calamari we ordered but rather a cold under cooked gray. We were not given utensils until after our salad arrived and we needed to wait for the utensils before we could eat and we even needed to ask for them. The salads were soupy like they were soaked in dressing. More than 35 minutes after we placed our order, we needed to track down Gio and ask for water and my wife’s soda to be refilled. Gio never returned, Jenna a manager came over and got involved. She got our waters and soda. After about an hour, our food arrived. My wife said to check it out before the manager left. I cut into my chicken and it was very tough so I turned it over and saw the chicken was burned. My wife’s chicken was literally raw. I looked like they cooked it on one side only. The manager saw both these plates and said “I cannot allow you to eat these.” She told us the entire evening was terrible for everyone. She said she was going to contact you. Thank God she comped the entire meal. My suggestion, even though it is hard to find employees, demand a dress and appearance code and make the staff adhere to it. If they don’t the fire them all. I would better to be closed for a day or two then remain open any lose patrons forever. I wrote to the owner and they have...
