I’ll start with sorry I don’t have pictures. When I get my food all I think about is eating it not taking pictures of it. I read some of the reviews and all I could think was were they talking about the same place. We went on a Saturday night at basically closing time. By that I mean they were closing in about 20 minutes. We have been to a lot of places that will tell you they were pretty much done cooking then. My husband made sure to ask if we had time because we were eating in and got a “yes! Absolutely!” There were 6 of us so not really a small order. We were seated quickly but gave us time to look at the menu before asking for our drink order. We had 3 kids and a grandmother who can’t see very well so it can take a minute to figure out what everyone wants but they didn’t rush us to order. When they did take our order the waiter was super helpful answering questions and making sure we got exactly what we wanted. Our food was to our table in I’m not sure 10-15 minutes. My oldest got the pulled pork sandwich which he said was huge he didn’t need the sides. He did still eat them though and said it was delicious. My youngest is picky and got chicken tenders but said they were really good. I got a loaded baked potato because I have health issues I’m not a big eater. My waiter however did not do like most do “is that all? You can get this, this, or this.” They normally make me feel kind of bad so I order something I know I’m not going to be able to eat. They other 4 got half each of brisket. It was absolutely amazing fall off the bone tender and they kept raving about it. Our waiter was absolutely attentive and kept drinks refilled and making sure we didn’t need anything else. The only thing we had to wait on was our check(it wasn’t a long wait) but most restaurants if they let you eat that late they are bringing you the bill as soon as they sit your food down. I don’t normally do reviews but between the friendliness of the staff to the amazing food I felt like I should. I filled out my comment card but I felt like everyone should know. We will be back when we are back in town. Oh, our waiter was Ashton just in case you want to go and sit in his section so you know you have a good waiter. I forgot to add with 3 kids we can be slow eaters. It was probably around 30 minutes after they closed before we left and they never tried to rush us. I said all that to say this friendly people, great service, amazing food you...
Read moreWe do not recommend this place to anyone. The people leaving good reviews never had real good cooking and their tastebuds are broken. We went here while we were visiting pigeon forge on vacation. We went during lunch time and got the trailhead combo, the brisket platter and the bbq combo plate with burnt ends, baby back ribs, and beef brisket. We also got the Mac n cheese, the collard greens and bbq beans. For dessert we got the peach cobbler and the banana pudding.
The wings were pretty good, and the deep fried pickle chips were some of the best I’ve ever had. That’s about all that was good. The deep fried deviled eggs were disappointing, not that much flavor. The pork rinds were okay, I’ve bought bags from the store that were much better.
The beef brisket didn’t have any flavor and was on the drier side. They also only gave my partner 4 slices of brisket. They did however bring her more brisket when they saw how disappointed she was and we loved that.
The ribs were okay, not bad but not great. Same thing with the burnt ends. The collard greens were salty and tasted like the only seasoning they used was salt. The Mac n cheese tasted like stouffers Mac n cheese, definitely not homemade. Nothing wrong with stouffers, but I expected better from a bbq restaurant. The bbq beans were just okay too, nothing remarkable.
The desserts are what really upset me. When they brought the peach cobbler the ice cream was completely melted and they told me it’s just because the cobbler was hot. Ice cream only melts completely when it sits under a hot lamp and you take too long to get it from under the lamp to the table. The peach cobbler was nasty too, the batter had no flavor and it was very disappointing. The banana pudding tasted like jello flavored banana pudding. Nothing wrong with that except the way they made it was also very nasty. I had some really good banana pudding in Chicago that puts Bennett’s to shame. It was like they followed the instructions on the box and that was it. They put no effort into making it taste better or anything. I was very upset.
Their floor is also really greasy and slippery, even in the bathroom. It’s dim and their napkins had dried up bbq sauce on them which really...
Read moreRead great things about this place but was sadly mistaken. Upon arrival the hostess didn’t even say hello or look us in the eye. Instead informed us that it would be a 45 minute wait. Fine. We’re in a tourist trap. It’s spring break. No problem. But when I looked into the seating area 1/3 of the tables were empty. But I heard such good things we gave our name and decided to stay. When we get to our table, it was a little sticky. After cleaning our table the waitress comes and asks for our drink order. Since we had already waited 45 minutes we had already chosen our meals. We told her that we already knew, and she seemed annoyed by this. Took our order and away she went. Brought the drinks and seemed somewhat aggressive setting them down. We wait a bit for the appetizer. The sampler. The pickles were amazing. The deviled eggs are terribly underseasoned. The wings, we chose the lemon pepper. I never thought chicken could taste like a sour patch kid. The amount of citric acid in the rub was rather excessive. And the pork rinds were normal. Nothing special. Meal came. We both had the Texas sampler. The fried corn was pretty good. Beans good. Collared greens were nothing to write home about(canned is better). Garlic biscuit wasn’t soft and I guess it’s only made adjacent to garlic because there wasn’t much garlic taste. We were rather disappointed with the meats overall. Chicken was dry and tiny. Brisket was passable but again, not enough to warrant 45 minute wait. The ribs were tough. Like real tough. I did not even take it home when we boxed the parts we liked. The pulled pork and the sausage were honestly the stars of the show. They are the only reason the food gets 2 stars. Now the entire time we ate, our waitress passed our table maybe 30 times(we were by the kitchen) and didn’t ask us once how the food was or if she could get us anything else. With other tables she was quite personable and amicable . Ours not so much. Literally had to flag her down for the check and boxes. Then she became full of pep and vim, trying to work on that tip I guess. Cleared all of our stuff and took the check. Overall worst bbq I’ve had in a long time. Even if someone else was buying, I would...
