Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Pigeon Forge

The Italian ice and custard was amazing but the older lady that works there is very rude and should not work with customers. First incident, my mother paid for her ice then went outside and the lady asks in front us to your cashier “ did she really just go outside” and he said yes, she said did she pay for that and he said yes, I gave her change back. Then she says are you sure. Of course he would know if she paid or not especially if he rung her up. Then my niece asks for a sample of one of them and has the spoon in her hand and she tells her to not touch the spoons anymore rudely. Then my sister had to pay for her ice cream and her daughters but gets charged for three because the older lady STILL thought my mom did not pay for hers after it was already confirmed several times. My sister didn’t even know she was overcharged till she told me the total so she went back in and asked about it and she said yeah I charged you for three. Finally gave her money back . Older lady made the experience horrible...

After we tried a small soft serve vanilla ice cream at every place we could find in both Gatlinburg and pigeon forge we realized there was just no good quality soft serve. Since we have a rule for no chain restaurants on vacation we spent up to $7 a cone for a small soft vanilla at over 6 locations..... it was either blue bell ice cream or mayfield advertised... all of it was very thin milky ice cream with chips of ice in it......like Grandmas ice cream. Most places didn’t have chocolate sprinkles, the one that did, the sprinkles were stale. So we had to break our vacation rule..... I know it’s custard but I also know good soft serve ice cream. Me and my family are on vacation and we decided to stop by this place for a nice cold treat. When we first got there it was nice we were looking at what we wanted. When we all got throw the line my grandmother went after us and the lady that took her order was very rude to her was smarting off to her and was making faces! There were 2 girls working Sami was very nice and she did a great job. But the girl who was taller she was rude I did not catch her name but she was very rude to my grandmother I see that as to be very disrespectful and rude the ice cream we had was great and the place was very clean but terrible customer service from that girl was very terrible I would hope she would learn to respect her elders and be nice to people in general it is not very hard to be nice in...
