Best Baguette — Restaurant in Portland

$4 sandwiches are hard to find these days, and it's a rare score in any downtown area. This gem is located on the Portland State University campus in the new Karl Miller Center which is the school's center for business courses.

My go to sandwich is #1, the Best Baguette Special. It's combination of paté, ham & head cheese makes for an exotic yet recognizable bahn mi. The spreads add a dimension of flavour as well as some moisture to balance the crispy baguette. The sandwiches are inexpensive, massive for the price, and come out pretty quick.

I understand that this place gets pretty bonkers for lunch rush, and I've not been there for that. Usually that can create some chaos, and some other reviews indicate that it may not be the most ideal time to visit the shop. When I've gone in the evening, it's a chill place and the food is great.

This location shouldn’t even be open as it gives best baguette a bad name! I LOVE best baguette and this was my first time at this location, such a disappointing experience. Placed a pick up order, once I got home realized the girl did not include a straw for my boba (which seems like common sense to include in a takeout order). Also unsure of what they gave me, but I ordered a blended milk tea boba and this drink was not that. Veggie sandwich comes with tofu and veggies - but my sandwich didn’t have any tofu in it. And lastly, I was accidentally double charged for my order. When I called the restaurant, they told me there was nothing they could do and gave me an email. Just one thing after another- I will be driving the extra 20 minutes to visit their other location...

Read reviews first and watch your debit and credit charges. I took about a minute to look at the overhead menu and order since this was my first visit to this location, I even mentioned that to the cashier, Donna. Well she used social engineer and Double charged me. Taking $16.20 on a $8.10 breakfast sandwich. No I did not consent, nor did I give 100% tip! Wth?! Never coming back again. Crooks work here. I even gave cash tip and she said thank you. Of course me not knowing she had already added $8.10 tip to my credit card. I've been to Beaverton and SE locations, never has this happened there or any other food establishments I've ordered from....
