Awful experience! Waaaaaaaaay over priced!! We almost left right before they sat us... Now I really wish we would have!! We told the hostess we had an hour before our show we had tickets for started.Thats why we were going to come again another time but he assured us we would be ok even telling us a party of 24 had not arrived so the kitchen should be fast. Even went and told our server Zach that we were on a bit of a time crunch. That's when things got awful. We knew what we wanted as we sat down. He informed us one of the items would take a long time probably making us late for the show. That was helpful so we ordered 2 steak salads thinking its salad that would be fast. Fast forward 30 min... Still waiting for SALAD!! Then we ask what's happening with our salad the woman we asked checked said it's being plated "should be out within a minute or 2" 10 min later nothing!! When Zach got around to bringing us our salad we asked for the check and boxes! We didn't have time 2 eat!! He chucked 1 box on the table and dispersed again! Came with the check requested another box. With a good amount of attitude he chucked another box on our table and walked away without taking our card! Then we again hunted for him to pay the bill she got his attention he took the bill and shoved it in his pocket went to the table next to us was taking there order and interrupted there order said hold on and ran to the 24 top table that had just arrived! After boxing my whole salad not saying it was a lot it was a side salad at most! 15$ for a small steak salad with the onions and meat WAAAAAAAAAAY OVER COOKED!! and the asparagus was raw! I could have done much much much better for half the price! And it would be a meal size! Anyways as he continued with the 24 top that was clearly his priority if only he treated all paying customers like that I wouldn't be leaving this awful review. I was more then upset and done with this awful experience I refused to wait on him anymore. I walked up 2 the desk and informed them hes been running around for him we NEED to leave. They went and hunted him down. He played the service industry nice card little late for that one! Then had the nerve to say you have 15 min to make our show!! We actually had about 5 2 drive and get seated so needless to say we quite late!! So it took over an hour to order 2 basically side steak salads for 30 bucks!!!! We didn't even eat it there!! I wont be returning ever!! Also will be sharing my experience with others. We had been told it was a great spot but our experience was far from that!!!! Zack needs more training to say the least but hey at least yall still have the some people coming. Maybe it because they had a decent server and didn't order a salad. But hey some people are into that kind of...

This review is a replacement for what I posted earlier. I struggled finding an exciting dinner option for my wife’s birthday. Surprising her in any way is almost impossible. I was ecstatic when I happened upon Tin Angel, positioned downtown among the art centers. Their online reviews by customers are heartfelt and I loved the art I saw in the photos taken by guests. I made a reservation and planned an evening of art, music, and fun within walking distance. When we arrived we found the restaurant had closed early. To say I was disappointed because a genuine birthday surprise for my wife had, again, eluded me would would only be part of the truth. I, myself, was looking forward to this dinner experience. So, in my disappointment I lobed a self-serving 1star review at this establishment despite having nothing more than the lobby to base my review off of. The owners of Tin Angel called the next morning and left a polite apologetic message offering to have us back. No response on my part. google gave me a few weeks to cool off and then showed me what I had posted. I read my ignorant review and others, I thought about the polite offer from the owner, and I read the very genuine efforts they are making to respond to their guests. I’m partly changing my rating of this restaurant because it appears the early closure that day was due to unforeseen circumstances. I’m mostly changing my review because I see in the efforts of the ownership the type of care and passion that is generally missing in the modern corporate restaurants we’ve all learned to tolerate. Tin Angel operates in a highly competitive, incredibly fickle, constantly evolving industry. we need more brave people in our community like these folks. People who dare to offer their art(food) up for our casual scrutiny. My wife and I will try this restaurant again. She may even be surprised after all. I’ll post about the dining experience. But as for the lobby, and the spirit of the...

Ate here on a busy Friday night. Service was good. Space was funky but fun. Noisy but pleasant vibe.

I don't want to overstate this but the food, in every respect, was disappointing and substantially below the quality I would associate with fine dining generally, and the specific price point. In preparation, presentation, taste, and really any metric of quality, it was not fine dining quality, not even finer diner, or bistro, just amateurish, something like what you would expect eating at a friend's house who was well-intentioned but had no training, or real interest in cooking.

I had the short ribs over mashed potatoes. The meat had been allowed to dry out in the oven and was hard and desiccated. The mushrooms were rubbery and tasteless. It was served over mashed potatoes with a large dollop of horseradish already applied, so the entire mixture tasted strongly of horseradish, not what I'm after in a braised meat dish.

My partner had the special, a ravioli in lobster sauce dish. The ravioli had apparently been held too long under a heat lamp and had become dry and crusty. There was no lobster meat to be found. The entire dish was o.k, but not really tasty, or flavorful, or attractive.

Most striking was the lack of care given to presentation from salad through entree. Everything came out looking very uninspired and artlessly plated.

To be clear, we both ate every bit of food. Nothing tasted terrible. It was just that the gap between the quality delivered and the quality one generally gets at this price point throughout major cities in the US, was pronounced.

I wish them well but hope they get a real trained chef in the kitchen because there is a vast amount of room for...

delightful atmosphere, delicious food and drinks, and devine staff. My Meal: aperitif - Old Fashioned Purgatory (substituted Sugar House bourbon for the rye) appetizer - Moroccan Cauliflower & Chickpeas dinner - Smoked Trout Salad (they smoke the trout themselves! so good!!) dinner pairing - Lanzos Blanco (Spanish sauvignon blanc) dessert - Pear & Caramel Tart Brulee dessert pairing - Yalumba Antique Tawny (port) AMAZING from beginning to end. my only note would be that they should serve larger pieces of bread with the appetizer to make a better vehicle for the cauliflower and chickpeas. still 5 STARS all the way!

I had a relatively good experience here tonight. The service was great. I love servers who are attentive and friendly. I do have complaints, though. First, I was disappointed by the size of the menu items. They only offer four entries...so not a lot to choose from. Second, I ordered lamb chops, and there was just too much fat on the bone. I certainly do not have a problem paying higher prices for quality meat, but for meat, not fat, even though fat helps the meat taste better. Just a little frustrating.

I love to find little gems in a city. Tin Angel food and service was excellent set in a European style decor and local art. I love Italy and the food and I'm a Gnocchi freak so if I see it on the menu I usually want to try it. The Gnocchi was served in a creamy gorgonzola sauce. It was a perfect cheesey blend and not too strong of a gorgonzola taste. Try the creamy panna cotta for dessert. See pics. The owner came up and said hi and was very welcoming.
