This would be five stars, as the food was delicious and the staff were very nice. We ordered tofu bahn mi, which was delicious, the pho burger, which my boyfriend really liked, the tamarind bowl, which was okay, and the Bún Bò Huế, which he also liked. We also got the lychee refresher which was good but nothing special. We ate the first two items right away and put the other two in the fridge for later. After eating the Tamarind bowl for dinner, I immediately started feeling nauseous and shakey. About a half hour later I threw it up pretty quickly. I am not blaming the restaurant per say but I want to be honest in my review and it didn't seem right to leave that part out. I don't know if it was just my body not liking something in the tamarind bowl or what. Food poisoning, in my experience, doesn't present like that for me (starts hours later and I'm throwing up for hours), so I'm hesitant to call it that. The food was all really delicious 5/5 except for the tamarind bowl that was meh 3.5/5. I was going to go back and order some more food because they have a good vegan selection but now I'm too anxious to. It was probably just something that didn't sit right in my stomach but that has never happened to me before so I am at a loss for why I threw it up. But yeah so I took a star off because that was not a...

I came here with just a couple of dollars to my name, hoping to just grab a loaf of bread to get me through the next couple of days (I've been going through an extremely tough divorce as a result of a number of factors, it seems that even if you sacrifice your future for someone they'll still fall head over heels for a man who is a MAGICIAN AT CHILDRENS PARTIES - You read that right!) I was very awestruck by the beautiful artwork on the walls! I'd only previously been to restaurants that serve hamburgers so I didnt expect to also get a "museum" experience with my meal. I sat down and drank their free water for 2 hours and just took in the amazing artwork on the wall. The only problem for me was the other patrons loudly talking about their meaningless lives and not simply shutting up and enjoying the art! That's why ive often thought I belong in a more sophisticated place like South Bend or even Reno - I'm good at appreciating the little things in this life plus I'm quite crafty as I am fighting a legal battle over my property (Over 2000 dollars worth of vintage plates - sign a preenup and just hope you won't need it) WITHOUT a lawyer. I hope to see more "artworks" around the city soon, happy to find out that we have something like this so close to my (now former) home...

For some context, I need to explain the pure turmoil I was feeling this morning. Imagine, if you will, 3 hungover young adults walking through downtown SLC in search of a meal. The sun's glare in my eyes was giving me a headache so intense I could feel the blood vessels in my skull. My companions and I were resigning ourselves to a day of feeling miserable when one of them spotted a Vietnamese restaurant across the street. We ordered veggie spring rolls, 2 bowls of vegan pho, and garlic beef loaded tots. The spring rolls were better than any I have EVER had, something I said aloud at least 5 times. The loaded tots that I stole off my friend's plate were DIVINE. Crunchy and slightly spicy and so mouth watering that I was literally moved to shed a few tears. The vegan pho broth was HEINOUSLY delicious. Sometimes, vegan broth is less flavorful than other kinds. Not so here! I believe there is a river in heaven made of this broth, and all who drink will receive eternal life. Humans are animals, but we forget that we are when we live in society too long. Sometimes, though, something reminds us that we are here to experience Earth's little pleasures. This pho UNCIVILIZED me. I walked home with a literal spring in my step. It inspired me to exist fully and I will...

Self-ordering seems too gimmicky and disconnects the idea of family. Traditional pho is best served and enjoyed when the customers feels the instant connection with the kitchen staff. The tall ceiling and the cosmopolitan feel definitely removes the traditional Vietnamese feel and makes you feel as if you are in a subway tunnel. The background music were muffled and has a dark country vibe. As for the broth, the depth is not there. I will not consider this as a traditional Vietnamese broth. Some of the spices are missing because of the gluten-free focus. Noodles were not happy with the broth and did not carry the taste with them. There was not enough cilantro to highlight the broth's taste. I was also missing the tripe, fatty flank, or tendon. The burger pho did not deliver the pho taste. The order took a long time to get to our table. The spring rolls were loose and not taut. This cause the ingredient fell appart after the first bite. The clean-up is also something you have to do yourself. Overall, this place is overpriced and underdelivered. There is so much potential for this outlet that I was looking for but was not met. I can't recommend this as a traditional Vietnamese pho but as a far substitute for one.

Close to City Creek, Eccles Theater and the Salt Palace, this downtown quick serve restaurant is an easy and tasty pick. It’s bright and clean. You order on a kiosk and customize your meal as you want. For example for a tamarind bowl choose white rice, brown rice, noodles or salad greens as base. Then the protein. There are gluten free options too. When you’re done and pay they call your name and bring it to you. Or it’s take out. Mine was done fast. It was so fresh with a lot of different textures, colors and flavors. You get your own utensils and water. I got the blueberry coconut drink and it’s very mild. I wanted more blender and mint flavor. Next time I’ll probably just get water. But I’m still happy I tried it. The restrooms are roomy, modern and clean with a place to hang your purse or coat. There are drinking fountains outside the men’s and women’s (one stall for each). My only worry is that it could get slow to order during busy times but you can order online too it looks like.
