My wife and I have come here a few times now over the past several years. The first time it was ok, nothing impressive but we would come back. The next time we went our service was pretty slow and for the price that we paid for things it wasn't worth a wait. We went again recently and had such a bad experience that we will NOT be going back. We waited about 20 minutes to get a seat, no big deal, it was the weekend after all. We sit down and our server is wearing sunglasses...? What? We're inside...and it was overcast outside. Naturally we perceive this as odd and begin speculating as to why our server would be wearing sunglasses inside, on an overcast day, while working. I don't know about the rest of you, but I want to be sure my server is making eye contact with me when I place my order so that I know there is no confusion over the matter. We place our orders and have a side of fries with our burgers, because that's what we Americans do right? We get fries with burgers. Ever burger joint knows this and nearly always includes fries with the burger for no extra charge. Not here. $2 for a side of fries. But don't worry, the fries in a kids meal are free of an extra charge...and the kids meal stack of fries is 2x the size of the $2 fries that we paid for. My stack of fries was pathetic, just putting it plainly. While waiting for our food we accidentally spilled one of our drinks and our server (still rocking the sunglasses) strolls by and mentions that they'll grab something to clean it up...nope I cleaned it up. And then when we asked for more napkins she just stared at us, or maybe fell asleep standing there? Who knows though? She was wearing sunglasses. Anyway, the worst part of this all was that we waiting over 1hr for our food! 1hr for 3 burgers and a kids hot dog. The only time our server checked in on us during this time was when the drink was spilled. When we asked if our order was coming up soon, we were told "I don't know, but hopefully." How about you go and check and then give us a solid answer please? Once we finally got our food, our server only checked on us once and did so as they briskly walked by not actually giving us time to respond. In fact we needed more napkins, but oh well right? At least the sun isn't blinding you...? In summation: overpriced food (especially the side of fries), poor service, and a terribly long wait. I really don't write reviews like this very often, but the experience was too memorable for the...
Read moreAbout a month ago, we had been on a downtown scavenger hunt that ended at City Creek Center. We were hungry after all that walking around downtown and decided to give Johnny Rockets a try because we had heard it was the best burger in Salt Lake City. It was about 8:15 and their sign said they closed at 9:00, so we went in. As we entered, one of the staff pointed us out to a woman who we assumed was the hostess. She looked our direction and gave a big, disgusted huff. There were several open tables in the main dining area, so we knew that we wouldn't have to wait for a table. A minute or two later, a waitress (not the huff-making hostess) seated us at the farthest table in the back, right next to the bathroom. We sat there looking at the menu for 15 minutes, and watching the huffy-hostess-woman refill glasses and check on other patrons at tables near us. Neither she nor anyone else came to take our order or offer to get us something to drink. A few minutes later, we decided to leave. As we walked out, the huffy-woman pointedly smirked at us like she was glad to see us go. We are generous tippers who would have made the "inconvenience" of waiting on us worth her while.
If they weren't serving new customers or the kitchen was closing down, they could have told us that. We are reasonable people and would have thanked them and gone somewhere else. Their treatment of us was extremely rude and really put a damper on what had been a wonderful evening. We won't be going back there or to any other Johnny Rockets in the future. We have been sharing our experience with all of our friends, many of whom work downtown and visit City Creek almost...
Read moreI was so excited to visit the City Creek location during my holiday break in SLC. I was completely disappointed with my experience from the moment I walked in the door. Organization was terrible. People were crammed in the front door, and the lines were unclear. Someone eventually seated us, and did not provide menus. We waited for 5 minutes without anyone coming to our table before grabbing menus ourselves. 10-15 more minutes went by, again without service of any kind, before we realized the couple in front of us had also not been served and they had been there much longer than we had. They turned around and told us they were back for the second time in two weeks, having walked out the last time after 20 minutes of no interaction with servers. I had to walk over to the waiter who had seated us and asked why we had not been helped. At the same time, the manager who was also cooking orders had looked over several times and smiled, but did nothing. It also looked like a couple of waiters looked over at one point, and decided neither of them were responsible for our section. The boy I grabbed apologized, yet it took 5 more minutes before he even came over to our area. By this time, we had waited a ridiculous amount of time to be acknowledged, and it also seemed like nobody seated were eating their meals. We decided to leave without ordering. The couple who decided to stay, only because they had a coupon, still did not have their meals after we went to a different restaurant to order, eat, and leave probably 30 minutes later. Ridiculously disorganized and slow service. Don't waste your time at...
