ONTOP LOUNGE — Restaurant in Salt Lake City

To be clear: I love the music, open air/outdoor vibes, However, I have to agree with many of the prior reviews that comment about the bartenders feeling a little scammy/deceptive on price and the bar being a bit overpriced in general. The last time I went I ordered a cocktail, which I had to confirm three times with the bartender because she kept trying to get me to select a more expensive drink and three times I said no I want this one (which was significantly cheaper.) I also asked for water and she Said sure and did not mention a charge for that. When I reviewed my bill, it said four dollars for a water bottle. I asked her why I was being charged for a water bottle when I had been given a small Plastic cup filled with what I assume was tap water. She told me, “oh, that’s just what they have to charge for water even if it’s not a bottle.” Then, I told her I’d rather not get it since it’s $4, (Literally every other bar in the neighborhood that I’ve gone to has always had free water provided for people drinking alcohol) Then, the bartender rolled her eyes at me, let out a sigh, and said, “well, I’ve already poured it.” Sis, I don’t think your liquor count is going to be off now because of a small plastic cup of tapwater. It's a very put together kind of place.

One side of the big room where everything is going for an antique vibe with empty old styled frames and vintage style of lights. But the other side of the room is just a black wall. The ceiling had some white lights that weren't on, which was just odd.

No real place to dance besides an elevated section in the back where the DJ is, but it's so small you might as well stay on the main floor where the staff is trying to place tables for guests to sit at.

The music was alright, but for the 30-ish minutes I was there, it was just Latin style music. Might have been the theme for the night, but just got really repetitive.

The drinks were extremely expensive. Maybe because downtown prices have gone up, but a shot of tequila was about 10 dollars. The bartender also didn't really poor the shot right. My friend got a shot of whiskey, and she got a lot more alcohol compared to me and another friend who also got a shot of tequila. My friend brought that up and he poured a bit more tequila to make the shots even but feels like a rip off.

No cover charge or anything, but it really feels like an empty room with the owners trying to earn...

Really enjoyed this new bar. Drinks were fairly priced and the club itself was very clean. Music that night was a. Good mix of hip hop and Latino. Overall the staff was very friendly and welcoming, Furniture was very comfortable and best of all the service provided by Ariel was AMAZING ! Ariel went above and beyond making sure me and my party had drinks all night long with no wait time. Overall a great experience and a very clean layout of the bar /club. Will definitely...
