This place went from a 5 star restaurant to a 2 star when it changed from bourbon street seafood kitchen to roam and range. This is the river walk location newly named roam and range. We were very disappointed when we went back today, for the 1st time since renovations had been completed. The atmosphere went from looking and feeling like an upscale restaurant to looking and feeling more like a basic cheap diner. The decor was a definite downgrade! The aesthetic is too busy, crowded, and the plain white walls are just not a vibe. The old vibe was relaxing, calming, and pleasing to the eye. This is not a place i would go now to relax and unwind as i did before. They used to have nice table cloths and now they dont have table cloths anymore. Very cheap diner vibe. The new service was disappointing as well. We were the only customers in the entire restaurant and the food took a long time to come out. They dont have the man who used to only serve bread and do refills anymore which we enjoyed before. The waitress was inattentive and came back to check on us 1 time. The menu was downgraded by a long shot and one of our usual favorite dishes wasnt seasoned the same, so it was a complete let down as well. The valets were nice and opened the door for us. They smiled greeted us nicely. The restaurant manager came by to check on us as a courtesy, as they used to at the old restaurant, but it just wasnt the same. It seemed like they were trying to have good service, but the old restaurant beats this new one, hands down. All in all, we decided we would most likely not return to this location anymore as we had gotten used to the very best service, the relaxing upscale atmosphere, and the best food and now we were disappointed by the changes. Everything was a downgrade! Even the bathrooms were a downgrade! They used to have hands-free soap and water faucets and now you have to turn the knob on the water faucet. They used to have nice, thick paper towels with a quiet paper towel dispenser to dry your hands with and now they have one of those cheap, loud, air dryers to dry your hands with. They used to have nice kleenex in the bathroom and now they dont. The new decor looks cheap. The bathroom went from upscale to feeling like a gas station bathroom, and not a Bucci's bathroom, either. Very disappointing! If i wanted a cheap Luby's diner experience, i'd go to a cheap Luby's diner! Same prices with a...

So I see a lot of good reviews here and thats why my wife and I decided to do our 1st anniversary dinner here. Boy were we wrong. We were taken to our table and sat with no plates, no glasses, no cloth, nothing. Im looking all around us and everyone has bread, have their utensils all set up and everything. Our waitress (I won't put her name here but you know who you are) took our ordee for drinks and food together (because it took 30 mins for my wife to finally waive her down to us). I saw she brought bread to the table that came AFTER us, so I waived down the floor manager walking around and asked if bread is included or extra. He said it is ofcourse included and he will bring it right out. We got the bread ten minutes after that. Yes. TEN whole minutes. After this I ordered a soup. I don't eat bacon and, when the soup came asked the waitress if this is bacon. She said yes, i said ok i cannot eat this sadly, is there anything you can do? She said, I am sorry I cannot, and promptly walked away. At this point I am fuming, my wife is visibly upset, so my wife asks a different waitress for a different soup, which somehow came out in 2 minutes. Next is the food, i ordered catfish and got tilapia. I know what catfish tastes like and that was not catfish, it was actually hard and difficult to chew. My wife's pasta was great, but my food was a disaster. I was so hungry after waiting over an hour for my food that I just scarfed it down and chugged my drunk to make the horrid taste go away. I will never in my life ever step inside any of these establishments again if this is what their customer service looks like. I have traveled to numerous countries around the globe, and a little mom and pop restaurant up in the mountains of Morocco had waay better service than this place. I never felt so unwanted in a restaurant. I really felt discriminated here if anything, maybe because I am brown? I simply don't know, but you will never catch me here again. If I could I would give you all ZERO stars for being utterly disrespectful and a total waste of my anniversary dinner. Thanks...

Food was amazing, no wait on a Saturday night around 8:00. We we're seated by the manager when we walked in. She put us at a table near the kitchen and we could hear all the dishes, pots and pans clanging. We asked the waitress if it would be possible to move to a different table to get away from the kitchen noise. There were plenty of other tables/boothes available. She took us to a booth right next to another couple so we asked if we could have the next booth for a little more privacy, and she said "It's dirty" and walked off. It didn't appear dirty, but maybe with covid it hadn't been sanitized..so we were just standing there. The hostess was nearby so I asked her if the booth could be cleaned we didn't mind waiting, she ignored me. By this time the manager noticed us standing there so we explained to her what had happened and she immediately apologized and moved us across the room to a table. After that the waitress seemed to have an attitude. It was our first time eating there so we had some questions about a couple of entrees, and she was not helpful..no suggestions or comments to help us decide. She was not pleasant or welcoming in any way. It felt like we were a bother to her, and for the prices we just expected better service. She did seem to have quite a few tables she was waiting on so understandably she might have been stressed, but still I feel that is not an excuse for bad service. Overall the food was great. The atmosphere is good. We will definitely try again..maybe she was just having a bad day. Hey we're...

My husband and i visited this restaurant a few years ago when we visited San Antonio for the first time. I fell in love with their food, and their lemon baked Alaska so much that every time someone that i know visit Riverwalk, i would tell them to come and have a meal here. After a few years, we made our way back to RiverWalk, and i couldn't miss the delicious baked alsaka, so we stopped by the restaurant today for lunch. The food, the service, and the atmosphere are superb. Our server was so attentive and quick to refill our drink. All the food that we order tasted good. My favorite is a seafood pasta and fries that came with my husband Po'boy. The seafood tastes fresh and well seasoning. The desserts are also delicious. We got a keylime pie, sunday ice cream for kiddos, and lemon baked Alaska. Overall, our experience is wonderful, and i am highly recommend this place. However, i am a bit disappointed at lemon baked alsaka(that i came 300 miles for). i think they changed the recipe and how to serve it. I remember it was fresh made, and a server would light it on fire when they serve it. But today, it just came as it is. It is still good but not as good as when it was flambé.

We tried out the new Roam & Range restaurant in late August 2025. Newly renovated, turned out excellent! There is a GREAT seafood restaurant in San Antonio!!! The crab cake was good, but the remoulade sauce was absolutely delicious! A single crab cake, so if you're hungry order a 2nd one. We split the Salmon Alexander which was spot-on. Includes shrimp and scallops, great way to sample the chef's offerings. Reasonable prices, about $25 for an entree including a huge side of dirty rice. We tried the cucumber martini, brown sugar old fashioned (delicious) and a couple glasses of sparkling wine. Our bill was about $125. Service was ok, a little busy at times which means the food is in demand. The only downside (and be aware), parking next to the restaurant can be challenging. We popped in to the closest flat lot and it was (no joke) $37 to park just for dinner. They really need to make the parking far more approachable for this restaurant to really take off. Nice find with a view of the San Antonio River from the dining area. Delicious choice for seafood! Cheers!

For a night out with the family or someone special. I would definitely recommend this place. Also if you are visiting and staying at the hotel its in, It's perfect and obviously close. Though since the entrance is inside the hotel its a bit hard to find if it's your first time there. Ok on to the food. The fish was great but the fried shrimp I was expecting a bit more spice for canjun. There wasn't a sampler plate on their menu so if you like eating a bunch of different things you will have to order them separately. The alligator bites were the best part of the meal. They were so tender. The price wasn't too bad. We had a table of 4, with appetizer, meals, drinks and dessert. We only spent 160. So 40 dollars a person downtown I think is not too bad. I'll definitely recommend this place to others
