Happy Poke — Restaurant in San Francisco

Checked out Happy Pokey recently — it’s a tiny, takeout-only spot. The menu is super limited, and it’s one of those places where you fill out your own order on a piece of paper.

I went with half rice, double salmon, pickled cucumbers, carrots, seaweed salad, and corn. The flavor was fresh and tasty, but the bowl itself was definitely on the small side compared to other poke spots. The salmon didn’t quite feel like sushi-grade quality, and for $23, I expected a little more. They do throw in a small soup, which was a nice touch.

Best poke I've had by far. Ever. CA, Hawaii, anywhere. I get poke for my kids sometimes. Stopped by on the way home for convenience. Had a "daddy tax" bite, then got reeeeaaaaaal jealous. Better than most sushi I've had, and I've been to all the best spots in SF. Damn it's good. Blue fin tuna poke? Never heard of that before. The owner is beyond kind & generous. 1 of a kind. You must try the spicy fried tofu! I came with a group and everyone loved the poke, but the fried tofu was a real standout that more people should know about.
