Used a gift card and simply asked the young man if the remaining balance was under $10 could he please just cash out the remaining balance and give me cash as I did not intend on supporting this place or any other locations any further than this last time. I nearly cancelled everything and left however I decided to stay the course. Honestly the main reason was to see how the employee reacted to my request about cash for the gift card. Which is absolutely within the boundaries of California Laws pertaining to gift card balances. As expected they behaved abhorrently. The first ummm "barista" I guess we will call him?? Who turns out to just be a career pot head only dragging his stoned body to and from because his "bestie" and "roommate" was the day shift lead. He looks at the card and then looks at me and I'm a moment of what I can only guess would be his internal alarm telling him his weed is wearing off, says uhhh what are you talking about ddeeeewwwwddd?? I explained as seriously and swiftly as I could, the laws in California pertaining to gift cards balances and option of cashing out. He then looks at me with a look like I just asked him, what the square root of something was..??? Puzzled , he manages to utter, uhhhhh you're gonna have to talk to my boy about dat. But, it's cool he's a manager and he will tell you the same thing I did bro. Not able to differentiate between the two stoners standing there in front of mei, I let out a burst of laughter and to make a long story even longer... Kidding I'll wrap it up. He started to tell me there same thing but, anticipating this I was already on hold with the customer service at corporate and thinking they would simply tell this pair of creators that don't have 10 brain cells to rub together and it would be cool and I'd get my change and be in my way. EHHHHHHHH...... NOPE.... THEY MUST ALL SHARE THE SAME BONG....I literally had to get them to retrain ALL of their employees ONLY AFTER I had my lawyer send them a short but nice letter on letter head letting them know where they can research the law concerning gift cards and cashing out in California.....UGGHHH... Needless to say this place needs serious work on staying current with policies and I don't know STATE LAWS regardless of how they...
Read moreI have been a frequent customer at the Fillmore location for many years, though admittedly, I had stopped visiting as often due to the steadily declining level of service. Today, however, I needed a cup of coffee to get through a long night of work and decided to give the store another try. Unfortunately, the experience I had only confirmed my concerns.
I arrived just before closing time and there was only one couple in line ahead of me. The cashier, whose name tag read Tucker, spent a significant amount of time chatting with the couple. By the time it was finally my turn, he suddenly announced, "We are closed."
I pointed out that I had been standing in line well before 7:00, and that it was only because he had been socializing with the previous customers that my turn came a minute past closing. Instead of acknowledging this, he insisted again that the store was closed, even claiming he "didn't see me" waiting. Despite being fully aware at that point, he still refused to take my order.
As I left the store, I also overheard three employees laughing loudly in a way that felt mocking and directed at me, which only made the experience more humiliating and upsetting.
This is not the kind of treatment I expect from Peets, especially at a location I used to visit so frequently. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and that management addresses the lack of professionalism and courtesy I...
Read moreI usually get my food at this location before I get to work, but today I ordered my food and my drink and afterwards the guy says the machine for credit cards is not working...only cash. I asked there’s anything you can do to help me get my food, I don’t have cash. I was starving, I can give you my credit card number and you can charge it once your machine starts working again. The manager was so rude and did not accommodate me in any shape or form. He actually sent me to the ATM, I told him I come here often please help me. He refused, no care in the world...not even a hard boiled egg, all of the sudden it became my problem that Peet’s did not take credit cards. Peet’s won’t go broke for one apple. Peet’s would of handle this in a fair manner. I hope Peet’s gets managers with customer service as a...
