So the greeter was very kind which was a nice start to our 1st visit. We arrived 15 mins early and because we had reservations our table was ready and waiting on our arrival. Because it was a nice day out, we wanted to sit on the rooftop but with the amount of people in our party (6) we were not able to move the tables, we would've had to split our party and sit at different tables...that was a bomber😟 Our reserved table was located on the bottom level (there's three levels) and I must admit it was a very intimate space, especially since we were celebrating Valentine's Day early. The other plus to the bottom level is that our sever was very attentive because she wasn't split between multiple tables. The food and drinks....I started with a Spitzer which I sent back because I thought it was a sweet drink but it wasn't. The server suggested the lemonade, it was really tasty and had the right amount of alcohol and sweetness. Then we had the Churchill Nibbler which was really tasty and everything had an amazing flavor. For entrées we ordered the NY strip with aparagus, my hubs says the steak was over done but the sides were good. He also ordered the house salad with the blueberry viginerette and I can tell it was delicious because he spoke not one word while eating it🤐🤣 I ordered the fried chicken which was not seasoned AT ALL😖 However, their Ranch is really good and therefore I was able to use it as a dipping sauce to eat the chicken. My roasted potatoes were good but lacked seasoning as well. How the ever.......the mac and cheese with bacon and jalapeno saved the day😋😋😋 I literally had to stop myself from eating it like I wasn't in public on a date with other couples present, it was absolutely amazing💚 Our guests had the meatloaf and salmon and they seemed to enjoy their meals; I didn't ask them about flavors but no one complained so I assume they were satisfied. When we were leaving, we noticed the main level was packed and there were live signers. Ohhhhh I must mention that if any Churchill's management read this review.....PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE note that the floor from the entrance to the elevator was SUPER SUPER slippery, I mean dangerously slippery, law suit if someone falls type of slippery...I'm just saying take care of the slippery floors ASAP!!!!! Despite the unseasoned food and the slippery floors, I would give Churchill's a 2nd chance. Our meal was $92 and our guest paid $58 so the prices are comparably to other restaurants... B- due to the slippery floors and lack of...
Read moreDecided to stop in Churchills to try their food and see if it would be a place worth re-visiting or suggesting to others. Waited for a non busy time. A rainy Sunday afternoon was perfect. At the entrance we were met with disorderly and disheveled employees wearing crocs in a place that charges 10 dollars for a glass of wine.
I ordered the Steak & Ale. It is not what you think. It is roast beef. Basic roast beef in a weird gravy with a sweet pastry slapped on top. There was no stuffed pastry as the description says. There was everyday roast beef which has a completely unique flavor in comparison to meat labeled steak. This dish is a fail to the description and the meat that was supposedly in the meal.
The server from the gate judged us off of our clothing. I like to dress down and scrappy to see how service employees treat us. I believe it is a good judgement of a restaurant. We were still charged for the meal which was immediately sent back and never eaten. The manager on duty is named Joe. At least that is what I was told by a lady server I flagged down and had to force to answer. I got her attention and she looked at me and turned away to signal my sever with attitude. She walked away with our server talking about us out loud. I guess they thought the music made it impossible to hear.
The intention in the whole situation was to review exactly how their service treated everyday people and how their service and food are.
They failed miserably. The manager never came to the table to see what went wrong, the table manner is atrocious and the lack of etiquette by employees is astonishing.
If you are looking for this type of food please visit any of the other many places near by. Better food, better prices and better staff. The staff was even hanging out at the bar and on cell phones while touching and handling drinks and food. They were eating and drinking as well without washing.
The gentleman in the hat with a pen hanging out was our server. He was polite in the condescending manner that you would expect. Just enough to be rude without actually outright doing so.
I can not...
Read moreI walked in at 650pm and walked past the annoyed-looking hostess on the sidewalk at the booth because she just stood there not saying anything and looking annoyed. I went to the upstairs bar and returned downstairs wondering if any staff would notice the lost guy wandering around. I went back to the sidewalk girl and said "can I get a table?" She said, "a what?" We got through that and I got a table and sat down at 653pm. I was ignored until 712. I had decided to leave at 710 but was curious at this point. At 712 I ordered a Guinness, pimento cheese croquets and a Churchill burger. A kitchen guy delivered the pimento cheese croquets at 720 and they were unremarkable. Supposed to have ranch and honey siracha but they must have been out of ranch. Ignored until 750 when I was so kindly asked if I wanted another Guinness because my glass had been empty for 30 minutes. No thanks. The waitress said "that burger ought to be up any minute" which amused me because I couldn't have agreed more. I waited until 8 and asked if it was ordinary for a party of one to sit and wait for an hour for a burger. She said they were busy which did not appear consistent with what I could see. I said that I was done and to give me my check which I suspected would be $17 for a snack. Instead I was only charged for the Guinness. That's all she could have done to improve the situation and she did it so, there's that.
EDIT- I CHECKED MY RECEIPT AND I WAS CHARGED 19 DOLLARS FOR THE PIMENTO CHEESE AND THE BEER. I REPLIED TO THE EMAIL ADDRESS PROVIDED AND HAVEN'T HEARD ANYTHING YET.
NO A MANAGER DID NOT GET INVOLVED. I SENT YOU MY RECEIPT ON DEC 16 IDENTIFYING THE HOSTESS AND SERVER.
Employees seem very unhappy. Kitchen had 45 minutes to make one burger and I never saw it. Shame on me for waiting an...
