I'm giving it a 2 stars but I'll admit It may have been my error bx I came looking for a Cajun pasta and got shrimp spaghetti/tomato sauce. I searched every place along the river looking for this place after remembering the Cajun pasta dish on the riverfront menus the day before. We had been searching for a good hour, it was raining, almost 3pm when we finally found it. The server tells us if we go ahead and order we can still order off the brunch menu bc they will be changing to dinner soon. So we both get the Cajun pasta with shrimp, chicken, and sausage.
I believe Jambalaya Pasta is the name, but really it was just spaghetti sauce with shrimp, chicken, and sausage. There was nothing Cajun about it. Idk why I imagined it would be a cream sauce not a tomato sauce like almost every other Cajun pasta dish I've had. So that is my bad, but I don't think the jambalaya sauce described it as a tomato sauce. When our server brought it omg I was so disappointed it was marinara bc it was the only meal I wanted all weekend.
When our server came back and saw I hadn't touched it, she didn't mention it just the standard do we need anything else. No how is it ladies like I could hear all the other waiters asking their diners. so I told her oh I didn't realize it was a tomato sauce, I thought it was a cream sauce. She says nothing. I ask well can I get some more parmesan cheese to help add to it and maybe make it more to my liking. She brings back some shredded cheese. I still don't really eat it. My daughter does not enjoy hers but is starving at this point.
Idk I have never had a server see someone clearly unhappy with their food and not ask if they can help in some way. So that rubbed me wrong. She wasn't very friendly either. I wondered if maybe she was filling in bc she was dressed differently than all the other servers and she was older so maybe she wasn't a server idk. Paying 50.00 for 2 plates of spaghetti shrimp was crazy. I don't order tomato sauce anywhere I go and I only eat my own recipe for marinara, so to get this was just peak dining disappointment.
The only consolation was I picked some of the sausage out after it became clear she wasn't going to ask how was it or if she could help...I did wait there for almost a half hour barely touching it to give her the opportunity to help, but she didn't. so I assumed it must've been my fault for not being aware jambalaya sauce was tomato sauce or for not having the good sense to ask what it was made of.
The beignets with prailene sauce were good tho. Nice location on the riverfront, it was fun seeing people walk by in big windows being silly posing for pics. Pic of a Rainy Sunday morning view out of the corner table next...
Read moreI absolutely love Huey’s!! We took a weekend trip to Savannah and we ended up dining here for 3 of our meals. Their service was good, all 3 times we were seated quickly. They had to clear off some dirty tables for us but they were very attentive and it didn’t take more than 5 minutes. The dinner was very yummy. The pesto pasta was a big serving which was super awesome. The ravioli were delicious and the cheese filling was good even without the pesto sauce. The crawfish etouffe was a new dish for us but it was very tasty. It came with lots of crawfish enough pieces for almost every bite. I liked it more than having a shrimp pasta because of that. Our server even gave us some complimentary beignets because our food took too long to come out. But I suspect they were going to throw them away because it was getting late in the evening. The next morning we went for their breakfast which was very tasty. We got the fried chicken eggs Benedict and the French toast. The eggs were super flavorful and they were covered in freshly cracked pepper. The English muffins were also were good and they had a nice toast to them. Something else I noticed was the first day the eggs were very runny which I like but the potatoes weren’t as fresh. The second day the eggs were less runny but the potatoes were very fresh. The French toast was the other item we order and it was fantastic! Probably the best French toast I have had. It was three big sticks covered in powdered sugar. They were super fluffy and just melted in my mouth. The pecan butter added a nice light crunch to it and added some very maple flavors. My only suggestion about this dish would be to serve the syrup in something more professional instead of the little to go containers. The beignets should get a whole rating on their own 6/5 stars. They are so perfect for my sweet tooth. They are super warm and fluffy we also got them fresh so they were steaming. The powder sugar is so light and not to overwhelming. The flavors are so yummy and I would suggest this to everyone who comes to Savannah. The sauce they serve with is also very nice and can add some more flavors and a slight crunch to it, but I don’t think it needs anything else. I love Huey’s so much and I will be coming back next time. I would suggest this to everyone who...

My wife and I are visiting from Charlotte, North Carolina, and this morning while walking at Forsyth Park in Savannah, Georgia, a local recommended Huey's as one of their favorite spots. Intrigued by the high ratings, we decided to give it a try.
Upon arriving, we found it a bit challenging to locate the front door due to minimal signage and the distracting presence of two ticketing booths nearby, which detracted from the restaurant's overall visual appeal. However, once inside, we were seated quickly. The ambiance was pleasant, and the tables were clean.
I ordered the original two eggs old-fashioned breakfast and added some sausage. Unfortunately, the sausage, which came with an almost $5 upcharge, was disappointing. About 40% of the sausage link was fat, making it difficult to chew and lacking in flavor—a cheap cut of meat that was not worth the extra cost. I would advise against ordering the sausage. On a positive note, the eggs and potato casserole were fantastic.
My wife had the eggs Benedict and enjoyed it. She said the eggs were perfectly soft, and the ham slices were flavorful and tasty. The coffee was also excellent, which added to our breakfast experience.
While there were high points, the poor quality of the sausage impacted my overall impression. I hope the restaurant invests in better quality sausage and bacon meats to enhance the dining experience. Despite this, we would consider visiting again, appreciating the good aspects of our meal.
Overall, Huey's has potential, but there's room for improvement.
Notes for the Restaurant Owners:
Invest in higher quality meat: Consider sourcing cuts that are naturally more flavorful and of better quality to enhance the dining experience.
Improve signage outside the restaurant: Adding a large sign above the awnings or a prominent stand-up sign with the Huey's logo would help attract more customers and make the entrance...
