The 3 cheese grilled cheese was 'A' for effort and 'B+' for execution. I get that it's a slightly different interpretation of grilled cheese (bread with character, and less greasy "grill"), but temp and cheese distribution or melting pattern just weren't quite there. Service at the bar was largely dismal. The bartender would immediately forget what was asked of her. This happened with me 3 times or more, and she always seemed to think this was the first time I was asking when I would ask again. The wait for the food was long. The space itself is nice. I enjoyed my whiskey sampler, but given there are only a few samplers, seems they could provide a short tasting notes thing.

I had the pleasure today of trying a new drink, thanks to my server Megan. This is a toasted origami, I don’t usually drink bourbon but this drink is DELICIOUS! I am on pre-birthday behavior, my birthday is tomorrow, and I will be going back to the toasted barrel with friends and family it’s nice and cozy in the atmosphere is just warm and inviting, not to mention the delicious food you see in the pictures below. I had sweet potato tots with Parmesan cheese and a pulled pork grilled cheese. YUMMY!! This is definitely going to be one of my new favorite spots to visit when I come to Savannah, my second home.

I walked in not knowing anything about the restaurant so for spoilers, you have a selection of different varieties of grilled cheese sandwiches, soups and more. They serve local beers and have a menu of specialty cocktails. I didn’t see many healthy options on the menu but if you’re not worried about your health or breath, then you will absolutely love the super greasy grilled cheese sandwiches and garlic tatertots (they cost extra btw). All cheese aside, I definitely recommend this spot for their cocktails!

I’m staying at the hotel that this restaurant is connected too for work so it was so easy for me to stop after work and grab a bite to eat. The first time I stopped by I was taking a burger to go and I’m guessing the manager is the one seated in the corner and she was there to training the guy at the bar. He was pretty nice and gave me recommendations on the drinks. The second time is what’s making me write this review. The server (black curly hair women) was so rude for no reason??? I have no idea what I did to make her treat me like that. I felt like she didn’t want to take my order and since I’m on a business trip I need an itemized bill so I asked her if she could get me the receipt that has the tip printed on the receipt. Please tell me why this was such a hard thing to do? She told me 3 times no and I can just take the customer copy and just write the tip on that one. Nicely, I had to tell her 3 times that my job doesn’t take it like that. I don’t think I have ever had to argue with a server so much about wanting to tip ?? I regret just not tipping and just taking the receipt since it was so hard for her to get me a receipt with the full amount on it. She finally said “No we’re not going to do that, we have to keep it” and I told her “but I did it last time I came” she said “OKAY” snatched up the papers and walked away. She came back 30 seconds later with it. The service was so bad. The food isn’t that great either, there are way better places to eat around the town. I was just going for the convenience but now I’ll rather walk 15 minutes around town in my heels than go...

Let me just start out by saying that this place has always stood out to me since I moved to Savannah, and I have been so eager to eat here...but I kind of feel like I've been let down. Atmosphere of this place looked and felt amazing, the lady we had as our server was absolutely PHENOMENAL! So my boyfriend and I ordered the classic grilled cheese and the three cheese sandwich with tomato soup. The sandwiches came out half toasted half soggy, and mine was awkwardly stuck together, so when you pulled it apart, it tore all of the bread and was a mess. The tomato soup honestly tasted like it was out of a can and it had a strange cinnamon bread as croutons on top. I ordered the Footloose to drink, and my boyfriend ordered The 993. His drink was so good! Mine on the other hand smelt like the inside of an Advance auto parts and tasted like how a tire smells...I am very much use to Bourbon/Whiskeys and not mixed drinks so maybe this just wasn't for me all together. The server was more than willing to get me an entire new drink, and it was the Southern Oragami, which was Amazing!!! Our drinks, however, come out way after our food was delivered to us and even patrons that come in way after us had their drinks first, so that was frustrating. I know that they were having a lot of issues with their cook that night and everything just seemed so off, but the server was unbelievably nice and even gave us a free shot at closing. So, like I said, maybe we just got it on a bad day but if it wasn't for our amazing server I...

Start by greeting customers... After I confirmed with the ‘manager’ sitting outside was okay, we waited and waited... After walking in to ask for a waitress, we waited and waited. Finally went inside and was greeted with ‘oh fine, come inside, it’s easier for me’. Delightful. Always maintain a friendly and polite demeanor... After the menus were slapped onto the tables, she walked away. A few minutes later, the next tables asked again for a coffee and was told It know’. She finally took our order, we were prepared with drinks and food, as we didn’t want to take a chance or another long wait. Your costumer is always right and at least deserve a bit of respect. Several people asked for napkins, straws, etc , which was met with I’ll bring it. They all waited longer. When our food arrived only about 1/2 arrived with no explanation. When one person asked for her fries, she said ‘it’s coming’ and walked away. Once all the food arrived, we found that one had under cooked bacon, parts were missing from one, one grilled cheese was completely cold, fries were cold... When we spoke with the manager who was much friendlier than the waitress, she just shrugged it off and said oh yeah, we are busy, which they were not. It was a complete waste and after almost 2 hours, we left hungry. Bottom line, although they are the only restaurant within a several black area, they are NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY...
