This is a place I’ve been to a few times, and generally I like it. That said, I’ve started to notice some recurring service and food issues, particularly today:

my partner and I ordered six total items. Three parts were incorrect. the barista assumed the upcharge/sale on adding an egg to avocado toast. Annoying, but fine. The toast arrived with no egg (ordered sunny side!) despite the sale. the avocado toast was literally full of inedible, hard twigs. Not sure which herb or veggie this was supposed to be from. the coffees ordered were one latte breve 12oz, and one oat mocha 16oz. The first rendition of the mocha lacked the… mocha part. No chocolate. As we sat, we also noticed that both our cups were the same size, so one of them either wasn’t a 12oz or one wasn’t a 16oz (which appears more likely). nitpicking, the coffee was burnt.

I would say this place has potential. It could be great, but several issues should...

I want to give these folks the benefit of the doubt that they were having an off day, but my experience wasn't great.

When I got my drink (dirty chai) it didn't have an expresso shot in it. When I asked them to add it, they took the drink back and supposedly added the shot (they used the same drink versus making a new one). However I didn't hear the expresso machine turn-on and still do not taste any expresso at all. There was also no one else in line for coffee, so it's unlikely they had a shot already made.

This probably wouldn't be as big of a deal, but there was some folks ahead of me where they'd made the incorrect drink and remade it. It seemed like things weren't connecting in general.

Again, maybe the staff were having an off day, as it seems like people like them via good reviews. However, that wasn't the case for me.

The normal chai latte is good. I just wish they had actually made the...

We’ve been coming here almost every week for a while. The owner and the baristas here really know their coffee. I believe they’re currently experimenting with their beans, so the taste changes a bit each week, but in general the (nitro) cold brew has been darker than other places without being too bitter, similar to Fulcrum. I’ve tried my girlfriend’s espresso drinks like their cappuccino and they’re delicious as well.

They have occasional coffee tastings on the weekends which is really cool. The inside is also super spacious and aesthetic, so don’t be fooled by it being a part of the City University building! One thing to note is that sometimes they don’t have nitro if you go later in the day, though they’re very upfront about it when you order the cold brew.

This has quickly become one of our favourite spots in the city! I’d highly recommend...

Comfy cafe with good coffee, but so-so service. I really enjoyed the iced cafe con miel. Well-balanced and not too sweet, though the honey was kind of stuck to the bottom so I had to stir vigorously to incorporate it into the drink. I was shocked that the blueberry scone cost more than the coffee, at $6.50. I was charged for the gluten free blueberry scone, but received the gluten free cranberry scone. I asked them to switch it out for the regular blueberry scone (which is what I had originally asked for). Maybe the gluten free one is more expensive? In any case, a slightly frustrating experience. The scone was okay, probably would have been better if I had asked them to warm it up. Blueberries were on the top only.
