Spent under $30 for 2 people to eat. 1 savory, 1 sweet, 2 drinks. First time visiting. Would come back! We came around 3:40pm. 3-4 groups in the shop when we arrived. Ordered at the front then picked a seat. Drinks and savory food came out in less than 5 minutes. They waited until we were done with savory to then give us our sweet order which was nice to space out. We got the bulgogi beef bento, OG soufflé pancakes, pink yogurt ade, and 16oz city mocha.
Bento came with beef, salad, rice, kimchi, dressing. Beef and dressing were flavorful. My personal preference would be for the kimchi to be spicier or have 2 options for kimchi (mild/spicy). Portion size was perfect for splitting between 2 people. We liked how much onion and green onion was in the bulgogi.
OG pancakes had the texture of a marshmallow. Served with butter and syrup. We ended up requesting a bit more syrup. There are more fun flavors to try like ube corn and strawberry matcha. These were interesting to try, I’m glad we split them as a whole order to myself would have been too much soft texture to eat in one sitting.
City mocha was the highlight of the visit. Yogurt ade had a lingering ‘artificial’ sports drink flavor that I didn’t care too much for, but the yogurt layer at the bottom of the drink was really good. Similar flavor profile to mixing sprite and yakult. I would not get this specific drink again, but I would try something else.
Lots of seating and WiFi. No charging outlets - come with your device already charged if you plan to stay to work for a bit. Lots of cute snacks and they had a row of instant ramen and a microwave which we loved.
Played lots of k-pop at a very appropriate volume, we could still talk to each other but also enjoyed listening.
No cash, no tax, no tips.
Clean and well lit...
Read moreMy husband and I came here on Saturday morning at 10am hoping to try their soufflé pancakes. That didn’t happen. As I approached the restaurant another costumer came out and told us they weren’t open until 11am. Not sure why they even had the doors unlocked if they weren’t willing to serve anything and to have various posts online of the hours at 10am. We had to find another establishment instead of waiting another hour. As we walked back to our car from eating breakfast elsewhere we decided to get something to go. We ordered two kimbaps, bulgolgi and pork. There was a small board with the price of $12 for each kimbap. I asked the cashier guy why he rung it up to $14 each. He ignored my question and I just paid even though I shouldn’t have because of the line of people behind me. This place is super deceptive. I’m not sure if he thinks if he’s getting good business he can charge whatever prices he wants. If he even had the common decency to tell me they forgot to change the prices on the board I would’ve walked away feeling better. Stealing is never okay and forget about costumer service he gave me.
This place is dark and everything is chaotic. Customers don’t seem to understand there is one line to pay, ask questions when they get to the cashier, and to pick up food. The menu should be displayed at the front door in bigger letters like a real pay at the counter restaurant. To have everything in one place to read the menu, order, pay, and pick up is chaotic. Never ever will I step foot here again. It’s one of the worst experiences I’ve had in a long while.
They sell Korean snacks and instant noodles that can be found for cheaper at your local H-Mart. Don’t come here unless you want your money stolen and bad...
Read moreI was really excited to try this place because I love korean food but I'm a little disappointed in my overall experience.
Ordered the bulgogi and salmon kimbap with the tteobokki. The kimbap were really big but not very authentic and the ratio was a bit off. Usually kimbaps are filled with a marinated spinach but this one was just raw salad mix without any flavour that took up 50% of the roll. So even though the rolls were large, it really just tastes like eating a salad more than a kimbap. The Salmon kimbap was a big letdown for us. It’s smoked salmon with cream cheese which is really not authentic Korean at all. we were at least expected cooked salmon and definitely no cream cheese. It would’ve been nice if there was a description of what was in the kimbaps on the menu or the server could have warned us what to expect and how different it is from more authentic korean kimbaps. the tteobokki was the best thing, came with rice cakes and fish cakes and the flavour was good. Maybe their souffle pancakes and drinks are better but I would not go back for the Kimbaps. It is a bit on the pricier side but it includes tax and tip so it’s comparable given its location.
There were 2 people working but the service was also a little slow even though we were the only order they were working on. They do assemble the rolls on the spot which I appreciate but I can tell that if this place were to ever get busy, you'd have to wait a long time for your order. It probably would be nice if they gave an ETA when you order of how long you'll have to wait.
The space itself was nice and large, music isn't too loud so you could work in there but it is really really warm. They probably should keep the doors open, that would've made it better or...
