Horrible service and even worst food. Waiters didn’t even state what the orders were and just made us figure it out and pass down, which caused a sauce to be split on me. Then I got steak that wasn’t my order and so it was severely uncooked then realized my friend had my order and had already eaten half of it. The waitress was not helpful and then just took it back. It came back with even smaller piece of steak and very over cooked. So paid for barely a dish of actual food. It was just terrible experience. Not worth your time or money. It honestly looks like food I feed my dog. Horrible.
To add on, your response makes a lot of sense as to the tone of the top and why your service was the way it was. The fact that you feel I was rude when your service actually showed no care to our table and were the ones being rude. I also didn’t send it back twice. I sent it back once because your servers didn’t provide me what I had ordered and when I stated that, they provided negative attitude. And then it was overcooked and not tasteful and I decided to call it. I’m allowed to share my negative experience at your establishment and call out when service is terrible especially when there’s a mandatory 20% charge because we were a larger table. I wasn’t planning to return after an experience like that - this is LA and word of mouth is important. The sad fact is I’ve been to your locations in Venice and Century City multiple times and absolutely loved it and have brought visitors there...
Read moreThe environment, vibe and menu are great! The environment is casual chic, the vibe is relax and fun and the menu is reasonably extensive with brunch and lunch and dinner. One thing that was surprising of the menu was that the only juice they have is orange juice considering they serve breakfast also you'd expect other juices as well. I tried their "Baked Eggs" and it was tasty - slightly on the salty side, so if you are watching your sodium intake...maybe go with something else. I'm a big coffee drinker, and unfortunately their coffee was a bit of a let down....no flavour, no body and just very bland - something you'd expect from a drop-down coffee station at a waiting room somewhere. We were a party of 4 and the food tasted good, but what really dampened the experience not only for me but all of us was the fact that they brought out each plate separately. We got the first dish, then 5 min later the second dish and then the 3rd dish...and for the 4th. dish we had to wait about 20 min....and had to go in and ask about it. Do you really want to start eating when your friends are waiting for their food and if not, yours will get cold..and that's what happened. If it's a larger party...bringing out the food all at once so they can dine together is a big deal and huge pet peeve of mine and I'm sure most people. I want to give this place another try because I think it has a lot of potential, so I will. Perhaps their dinner will be...
Read moreDining out should be an experience—one where service, food, and atmosphere come together to create something enjoyable. Unfortunately, our visit to Zinque was the opposite. From start to finish, it felt like an afterthought, and at no point did we feel like valued guests.
We opted for the tasting menu, expecting a well-paced and curated experience. Instead, it was a disaster. Our server was barely present, forcing us to flag down another (much kinder) server just to get any attention. The food arrived underseasoned, undercooked, and without plates. When the food runner brought our entrées, he simply stood there in silence, waiting for us to clear the table ourselves. When I picked up an empty plate to help, he threw the dishes down with force and walked off. I had to call him back just to ask if he could take the empty plate from my hand—he huffed, grabbed it, and left the rest of our dirty dishes behind. With no other option, we moved them to the empty table next to us, where they sat untouched for 25 minutes.
At that point, we had seen enough. Rather than continue through the full tasting menu—including dessert—we chose to cut our losses, pay, and leave. That’s how bad it was.
I rarely write reviews, but this experience warranted it. Every restaurant has an off night, but this felt systemic. I hope Zinque takes this as an opportunity to re-evaluate, because the potential is there—but right now,...
