Service: Everyone I interacted with was very friendly. Since I was the only customer, I was surprised how long it took to make two Banh mi’s. So when they’re busy, I can imagine the wait time could be close to 10 mins or more. Rating: 4/5

Atmosphere: When I visited Ban Mi Oi, the set up was more grab and go, so I won’t rate the atmosphere. Rating: N/A

The prices were reasonable, the portion size was good, the Banh Mi’s were crunchy and all the fillings were fresh, moist and cooked to perfection ❤️

The only downside was I asked for chilli to be added to both Banh Mi’s, but...

Tiny place across Swad Kitchen Indian restaurant in Old Town Hanoi, owned by a lovely couple and their son. Two plastic seats placed on the curb are the only seating available. Read the reviews and visited the place to pick up a Traditional Bahn Mi and a Vegan Bahn Mi, together with two Vietnamese Salted Coffees. The male owner is such a sweet person, taking great pains to explain the contents of each Bahn Mi and using Google translate when necessary. The wife is the wizard chef, who quietly assembles the sandwiches and drinks. Smiling, humble, thankful…such a treat to have visited. The sandwiches were each a bomb, as were the coffees. All for a very modest 120,000 VND. Entirely worth a visit while in the Old Town area of Hanoi…sadly we discovered it on...

Our first time in Vietnam and our first taste of the original Banh Mi was here! Yes, true to all reviews here, it's the best Banh Mi for us. We tried others especially the famous ones but this is definitely the winner! The bread was crusty outside but soft on the inside and much bigger and tastier than the famous one. The owners were very friendly, asked orders politely even with little English and even offered me tissue to wipe off the sweat on my face. Haha. We came here everyday during our stay coz we couldn't get enough of their Banh mi and the iced coffee was heavenly! We were also given a post card as their appreciation for choosing their store over other famous ones. Miss this...
