I HAVE MIXED FEELINGS.

We visited this restaurant twice during our stay in Prague, and each experience was completely different.

First Visit – A Promising Start

We came here based on a friend’s recommendation and visited with my English-speaking partner. The restaurant wasn’t full but had a decent number of people. The food was enjoyable, and the service was friendly. Our server was engaging, though he was quite persistent in upselling beer, which felt a bit pushy. Still, overall, we had a pleasant time and left with a good impression.

Second Visit – A Disappointing Contrast

The second visit was a letdown. The restaurant was nearly empty, and this time, I was with my Ukrainian family and my English-speaking partner. Unfortunately, the experience was entirely different. Our new server was neither welcoming nor helpful, giving off an uncomfortable vibe. My family doesn’t speak English, so I had to translate the menu and assist them in ordering. Instead of making the process smoother, the server’s uncooperative attitude only made things more frustrating.

To make matters worse, when we asked a few simple questions about the food, the waiter either didn’t know the answers or couldn’t provide any recommendations. This lack of knowledge and enthusiasm made the experience feel even more unwelcoming. On top of that, I couldn’t shake the feeling that the staff was giving us looks, which made the whole atmosphere uncomfortable.

With such contrasting experiences, I’m not sure if I’d return. It seems like the quality of service depends heavily on which staff member you get, which is disappointing for a place that...

When I asked the hotel concierge where can I try authentic local food, her 1st choice was Potrefená husa on Platnéřská which was very close to Charls bridge. Upon arrival I was greeted by a waiter with a serious attitude that I was reminded of my vice principal during my high school years, but it’s okay it was his nature, I nervously asked what he recommended, he answered in such way that how could I not know what to order, and asked “you eat beef?” I said yes he said “okay get this “ pointing at SVÍČKOVÁ OMÁČKA which is a beef and bacon topped with cranberries on a creamy root vegetables sauce served with bread dumplings. saying “this is good you will like it.” I trusted him and went with it. Food arrived, looked okay, the meat was hot but the sauce was a little cold. The bread dumplings helped combining the flavours. It also needed more seasoning, I think.. maybe that’s the way it was supposed to be?. The dish was okay not my favourite. For dessert I also wanted something traditional so I chose Nougat dumplings. Never heard of that before and I was looking forwards to try something new. The dessert arrived quickly. It was two nougat balls with ginger bread crumbs served on sour cream and caramel sauce. I found it very sweet. It was not bad, again it’s just me I’m picky about desserts.

Service was good, food was also good The atmosphere was lively.

Maybe I’ll try this place again and try other things. I would say it was...

As loyal customers of Husa in Brno and Prague, we have always had excellent experiences with both the food and service. However, our most recent visit shattered all the positive memories we had.

During this visit, we ordered two mango lemonades. Regrettably, we were served lemonades with a different flavor. We politely requested a replacement for our original order, to which the waitress responded that it was not possible due to the inability to modify our bill. This was highly disheartening – I am not inclined to pay for a beverage I did not intend to order.

We chose not to escalate the situation, but the lack of resolution led us to withhold a tip – a choice that was met with the waitress's explosive reaction. She yelled, "If you're not leaving a tip, eat at home!" Remember, tipping is not mandatory at their establishment.

Horrible place with terrible service. Our friends from Berlin were shocked, and so were we. We will never go there again and do not recommend it to you either. It's better to choose another restaurant from this chain with...

We made reservations prior to visiting Praha and din't notice they put us in a basement-like room, otherwise I would have pointed this out. Although quieter than the ground floor, the latter feels more cozy and elegant. Service was fine, always taking care of our orders and being attentive. What I didn't like was that the waiter took the dishes off the table right when almost finishing not even asking (this also repeated in other restaurant in Praha). Note that, this shouldn't be even an excuse, the place was not full at all, nor there was people waiting for a table. I am afraid the food was not good. First, it took long to arrive (I was finishing my second beberage). The beef roll (Španělský ptáček) was very dry, even with the beef juice. The fried cheese had almost no taste and the side fries were the typical supermarket frozen-like. At least the spaghetti was fine, so the desserts.

The restaurant made a truly great impression on me. The staff were exceptionally polite, efficient, and professional – everything ran smoothly from start to finish. The dishes we ordered were absolutely delicious. Each one was perfectly prepared, well-seasoned, and made from fresh, high-quality ingredients. It’s clear that the kitchen focuses on flavor and precision – every plate was beautifully presented with great attention to detail. The portions were just right, and every bite confirmed that this place really knows good food. The drink also deserves special mention – perfectly balanced, refreshing, and full of flavor. It complemented the meal wonderfully. This is definitely a restaurant I’ll be happy to return to. With excellent food, professional service, and top-quality preparation, it’s a place I can confidently recommend to anyone who appreciates truly good cuisine.
