The staff here are discriminating and rude towards foreigners/tourists!!! I am visiting Prague for the first time as a tourist with my partner. We booked this restaurant to experience riverside eating. Upon arrival, the restaurant was busy and we arrived 5-10 minutes early before our booking. We waited for staff and eventually we were told we are going to have to wait which is fine. We were quickly rushed to the first table that became available with no welcome. Our drinks and food came out extremely fast, which I’m unsure is a good sign. The food is mediocre at best. The waitress allocated to our table was extremely inpatient and rushing us as well as being rude and making faces at us when she thought we weren’t looking. She took my partners plate away from him even though he was not finished his meal. Whilst trying to pay, the card we were using was having issue on the card reader. The waitress tried to do it twice and both times would scoff and snarl down at him whilst slamming her arms against herself in annoyance. I understand getting agitated after this happened four or five times or if we had caused issue during our dinner. However, this was not the case as we ate our food quietly and didn’t ask the staff for anything during our time here which was only 40 minutes, an unusually short amount of time to be at a restaurant. Due to watching her make horrible body language towards my partner, I payed the bill quickly with Apple Pay as I wanted to get out of the restaurant immediately even though this was meant to be a gifted dinner as it is my birthday (my partners phone was out of charge). She walked away in a mood without saying anything to us. I’m not someone that stands for this behaviour. I comforted this waitress who had long black hair and glasses. I asked her for her name and she told me she didn’t speak English. This is weird to say as she understood what we were saying whilst ordering. Another waitress was called over who was the one who sat us. She had blonde hair and translated for the other. I told them both that we are tourists here who have done nothing to deserve this treatment, I’m extremely unhappy with how we were both treated. The faces made towards me and my partner are unprofessional. It tells me what you really think of us. They refused to give their names. Although they apologised, we aren’t blind to the laughter and whispers made behind our backs whilst leaving. We came to the restaurant a day before to make a reservation for a table outdoors specifically. The waitress did not even bother taking it down somewhere so already a red flag there.
We then arrive 5 minutes before our reserved time the next day to find both outdoor tables occupied. We were brought to tables right inside the restaurant and only after I found the lady that supposedly took our reservation, she then managed to clear a table for us.
Next, it took more than 1 hour and 20mins and our food never came. Asked a waitress to check our orders before, never came back to update us. Another waitress came and said exactly this : ”you see we are busy you can wait yes. It will not take long, why, are you in a hurry. ” PLEASE. Have your staff go through some customer service lesson. The most a customer can wait is 45mins WHEN THE RESTAURANT IS BUSY. Google it. And dont make it the customer’s fault that we are rushing for the food. Maybe do service recovery by offering us some appetizers or drinks. Nothing at all was done. If you see your customers looking for their food orders,cant you check with the chef on the time and at least update the customers. Just because you guys are in a good location DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE ALLOWED SUCH ATTITUDE. And to the owner, actually respond the comment and not give a default respond like that. If they were not interested in serving the customer they should just not take any customers in. Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. It is sad to see that instead of accepting fault, the restaurant deems it fit to falsely accuse us of verbal attack. For your kind information we had absolutely NO conversation with your staff apart from making requests to take our order. The issue here was not that the restaurant was busy (which I may add that it wasn’t busy the time we visited), there is a way to treat customers irrespective of whether the restaurant is busy or not. There is no excuse for blatantly ignoring repeated requests to take an order!! And no your staff did not have any courtesy to say it was busy and they will come for us. As for your restaurant reviews- scroll further down Google reviews or check the reviews on Trip Advisor for a reality check.
