It’s a statue and as statues go, it’s a nice one. Tall, slim, with just the bust on top. Very lifelike from the chest up. Copper with a real nice patina. Great views all around the statue, ideal for picture framing.

Το γλυπτό αυτό βρίσκεται στον Βόρειο Λιμενοβραχίωνα στην περιοχή Κούλε και αναπαριστά τον Νικόλαο Κιτσίκη ο οποίος έκανε μελέτες και εκτέλεσε έργα, όπως το λιμάνι του Ηρακλείου.

Ο Νίκος Κιτσίκης ήταν Έλληνας πολιτικός μηχανικός καθώς και καθηγητής - πρύτανης του Εθνικού Μετσόβιου Πολυτεχνείου. Θεωρείται ως πατέρας της ελληνικής στατικής και ως τεχνικός διευθυντής της Βρετανικής εταιρείας McAlpine 1921-1928 κατασκεύασε το λιμάνι του Ηρακλείου. Το 2003 τοποθετήθηκε προς τιμή του η προτομή του να κοιτάει το λιμάνι και το κάστρο του Κούλε. Εδώ γνώρισε και τη γυναίκα του Μπεάτα Πετυχάκη με την οποία απέκτησαν τρία παιδιά.
