If I could rate zero stars I would. This is based on our experience and Iâm sure doesnât reflect Baja Brewing at all times. But it must be pointed that you only get one chance to make an impression and they ruined it. Weâve had excellent customer service everywhere in Cabo but this place. This place didnât provide ANY kind of service whatsoever.
My girlfriend and I came out for a late night dinner at 9pm. I know most places close at 10pm now because of COVID, but 9pm should still have time to order and eat. We get there and we had to ask someone for a table and menus since we walked in and none of the workers seemed to notice us walk in. We sat by the back stools and we each ordered a drink. A few minutes later the waiter asked if we where ready to order. We said not yet and that we just needed a couple of minutes. This is where the problem started. We didnât take long to decide what we wanted after, and so we waited for the waiter to come back. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. The waiter never came back. We looked around and there were several other tables either done and wanting the check or wanting to order and not being able to flag any of the workers down. Some tables resorted to raising their hands as if they where asking permission to speak, just to grab some sort of attention. I look over to the bar area, and they are all just hanging and talking as if they didnât have a care in the world. Not one of them was âworkingâ at all. I was so mad at this point that my girlfriend and I wanted to leave. We start heading over to the bar to get our check, and the guys supposedly working didnât stop talking until the bartender noticed I was directly behind one of them and said to him âte hablanâ which means âtheyâre calling youâ. He looked startled when he turned. Of course he was. None of them where paying attention at all!! I asked for the check for our two drinks and he still had the audacity to ask if I wanted to leave a tip on the receipt!
We ended up wasting 50 minutes of our time at this place with no service, no food to be served, and now we couldnât find any restaurants to eat at, as they where now closed at 10pm. Luckily, walking down a bit of ways there was a restaurant that was still open late night and one of the employees standing outside asked if we wanted to dine in. Total Day and Night difference from how we where being treated at Baja Brewing.
All in all, there are plenty of places in Cabo that would be glad to have us as their guests at their restaurants so much so that they even stand outside asking people to come in and every single time provide EXCELLENT customer service and EARN every single tip I give willingly.
Baja brewing failed to provide any kind of service and thus failed to have me or any of my friends and family as a customer ever again. I hope management reads this and straightens up their workers because I know they donât represent Cabo the way I...
Read moreWe visited for the first time since Covid, and since the new restaurant opened after Cabo Villas reconstruction. It was disappointing to see the marina location had closed since our last visit, but a lot had changed in Cabo since Covid, so we took it in stride. Access to the place was curious, at best. You access it at street level through the Corazon (which puts you on level 3). You have to take the elevator down one floor and walk through an outdoor deck to access another elevator to take you to Baha Brewery. The curious part here is that when accessing this elevator you're getting on at level 4. How we went from the second floor to the fourth by simply walking across a flat deck is a head scratcher. The layout of the restaurant is virtually the same as before, which was nice, as the views are beyond compare. One issue we had is that there's 2 steps down to access tables with the best views, but as my wife is wheelchair bound and there is no ramp to get down these steps They definitely missed the mark in their new constructions when they didn't include this in initial design, but it's kind of par for the course for Cabo - some ADA compliant, some not. Very hit and miss. The food was just okay - not as good as in the past. What they advertise as risotto was not. Not creamy at all, just basically cooked wild rice. The fish was exactly that - fish. The fishiness was beginning to really come through, leading me to wonder if freshness wasn't as good as in the past. The absolute worst issue was the music that was being played throughout the entire meal. The DJ kept a club techno-beat music line, with booming bass at 90+ dB. Definitely not the ambiance you would expect from a restaurant. The audience was not the typical young crowd you'd expect that would appreciate a loud club beat, but rather 30-70 YO age range, some with small children. The place was not packed, so it wasn't like they were wanting to move from restaurant atmosphere to club environment, this just seems like the norm. The only 20-somethings in the place that may enjoy such a loud bass-booming atmosphere were the employees. While that may be a fun work atmosphere for them, it made for a miserable dining experience. My wife has made it clear that she has absolutely no desire to ever go back to Baha Brewery unless they return the food quality back to what it was in the past and they decide if they want to be a restaurant or a dance club. Unfortunate, to...
Read moreOur last experience was terrible. In the past, things were much better.
We made a reservation and requested a table next to the glass looking out over the bay. We were told the reservation was confirmed.
Upon arriving 10 minutes early, they attempted to seat us at a table much further into the restaurant. We told them we had requested a table along the glass and all the small tables along the front were empty. They moved us a little closer to the glass, but stated the other tables were reserved. For the record, only one of the small tables was occupied before we finished dinner.
The server (Jose according to our receipt). Promptly came and took our drink orders. They were brought in a timely manner. He then came back and asked if we were ready to order, my wife mentioned what she wanted, but I had not decided yet and told him we would need a few more minutes. He said no problem, take your time. I decided on my dinner selection and waited for his return. He came back about 15 minutes later and asked if I wanted another beer, which I did. I also told him what I wanted to order and he said ok.
Again, he promptly brought back my 2nd beer and they brought her dinner athe same time. Iâve never had this happen where they placed œ our order and brought hers about the same time, I ordered mine.
Her fish tacos were soggy and bland. Well after she finished her meal, they brought mine. Mine was good in quality and flavor, but it wasnât enjoyable eating after her. Once the food was brought, we did not see our server again until we went and asked for the check.
I will say he seemed very attentive to the 2 larger tables near us. Itâs possible that he didnât think a table of two was worth his time.
When we paid the bill, I asked if we needed to do anything else since this was the first time I had used their valet parking service. He said no.
When we left, it took almost 15 minutes for the valet to bring the car. I handed the valet my ticket and a tip. He then asked if I had a yellow receipt for the parking fee. I told him no and explained the conversation I had with our server. He pointed to some small writing on the receipt that states there is a 100 Peso valet parking charge. Someone should have mentioned this when we called and asked about parking, when they took the car, or when I ask about valet parking while paying for dinner.
Again, this is the worst experience we have had a Baja Brewing and I can no longer...
