Floating Amsterdam gave myself and my partner an amazing boat trip to remember.

All staff that we encountered were absolutely fantastic and we couldn't fault them. I wished to reschedule my booking and I spoke with a Belinda over the phone who was super helpful and super friendly.

On the night of our Light Festival trip we showed up to the departure point and confirmed we were at the right spot with the Floating staff member (didn't get a name, sorry!). After a few minutes the departure point began to get busy and our boat pulled in. A general queue attempt was made but it seemed it came to be every person for themselves. The staff member let a few people on then stopped to look for us as he must have remembered we were at the point some time before the people that had somehow made their way in front of us. He called us over to board next, we were very appreciative of this gesture!

On the trip we had René as our captain and Shiva as our drinks host (hoping I've spelled these right), both of which were lovely to everyone on board. René is evidently in the right job as he loved telling us all facts about not only the light sculptures but general bits and bobs about houses, streets and other structures we passed. Not to mention, if what he told us about him swimming in the canal swimming pool area every morning is true, he truly is at home when on a boat on the Dutch canals of Amsterdam. Shiva was attentive to all but never overly such, he also took over from René at certain points to mention facts and stories about light sculptures and other structures we passed which was nice. The pair were a great team. A side note - René's matching music to go with the light sculptures was brilliant, e.g when passing a light sculpture made with bicycle wheels, he plays Bicycle Race by Queen! We found it hilarious and loved to hear what song came next after each sculpture, and we weren't the only ones!

Our tour was roughly an hour but it really felt like 10 minutes we had that much fun! Thanks to René and Shiva for a lovely, relaxed and fun evening trip. Thank you to Belinda for working out my rescheduling with ease and friendliness! Thank you to the departure point staff member for upholding some fantastic British queueing standards for a couple of Brits, whether you meant...

I was so excited for my tour of the Amsterdam Lights but was sadly disappointed. The boat itself was nice and the tour was smooth and beautiful but there were a few issues. First, as someone with back issues, I was very uncomfortable with how we were made to get into the boats. It seemed risky to me. In addition, the person who was serving the drinks was put in charge of giving the tour and she was so distracted and talking to the drunk influencers on the tour that she often forgot to give descriptions of each piece until too late and didn't bother speaking loud enough for everyone to hear. The captain of the boat was very nice and seemed genuinely interested in giving us a good tour. These specific guests were also being very loud which was distracting and I could not hear the descriptions of each art piece or fully enjoy the serene setting.

I'd definitely recommend that everyone go on a tour of these beautiful art pieces, but maybe consider doing it with another company that prioritizes taking everyone's enjoyment into account over socializing with...

It was quite a misty night so the photos don't do the light exhibition justice, but we had a really great time. We arrived at the location (be there 15 minutes earlier they said) and saw a line across the street from the boats. They called my name and we boarded with about 20 something people. It was really cold, but we had a fleece blanket and some Gluwein to keep us warm. Dress warmly because the boat is uncovered! The tour guide was nice, entertaining and played music to accompany the light show. We had bottomless drinks, I had 2 glueweins, a red wine and a rose, more than that you surely don't need for the duration of this trip. The server lady Mabel was kind and kept filling our cups, you can ask if her if you'd like another drink. I only saw chocolate kruidnoten as snacks so eat something before the boat trip. I didn't mind not having snacks because the point was the boat trip. The evening had no issues and that's why I...

We did a one hour tour with Floating Amsterdam on Saturday 21 May and we had an excellent time. We opted for the Luxury VIP package which includes cocktails and it was 100% worth it, definitely recommend. Captain Erik was the best. He did a fantastic job of keeping us entertained while we went down the canals. Sara was a wonderful bartender and made the best “smooth and stormies” (rum + ginger beer). They are both locals from Amsterdam and know a lot of about the city and it’s history. We really enjoyed this tour, it was the highlight of our trip and an excellent way to relax while seeing taking in the beauty of Amsterdam. The pickup location is very convenient, located right in the center. I would definitely recommend this activity to anyone looking for a nice activity to do while in Amsterdam.
