Very scenic, but its a long down hill walk to get to the trails. For an old disabled guy - its the coming back up that hurts.

There are handicap access toilets at the bottom of the hill. But no benches along the paths.

We seen two fishing docks on different ponds. And around 3:30 the bluegills were surface feeding.

Lots of wildlife to be observed depending upon the time of day. We seen several duck species, cranes, herons, and squirrels. Even had the pleasure of watching a big snapping turtle crossing our path.

Tons of wild flowers and other wetland vegetation abounds. And constant flights...

Bass ponds have great trails, awesome landscapes, and also fun things along the trails. Many people fishing in the river, people watching the beavers, and so many frogs! I really enjoyed walking through the trees, seeing huge ones that must have been around for so many years. People you meet along the trails and nice and courteous as well. I'd recommend everyone in Minnesota take a trip to Bass ponds at least once in their lives. And if you're into biking, there's awesome trails for...

Great place for a winter hike! Combination of paved and unpaved but mostly fairly flat except for the first hill from parking lot which can get slippery if icy. Restrooms are closed for winter about 2 mi in but there is a portapotty at the parking lot there. Great trail for spotting bald eagles also swans, ducks. We only go about 2-3 miles out then back but there is more trail if you are up for it. Parking lot only holds maybe 10 cars so if a large group, carpooling would be...

If you like birding, this is the best place that I have found in the Twin Cities for viewing a whole multitude of different types of birds. I've only been once, but I have seen Egrets, Great Bkue Herrons, gold finch, Robin's, mallards, Canadian geese, cardinals, blue Jay's, indigo bunting, swifts, multiple types of raptors, Sparrows, and more. It wasn't busy when I was there. It was quite flooded when I went and many of the trails weren't accessible.

The trails here were really great. Variety of different kinds ranging from easy to hard and novice(paved) to expert(off road). At the begining of the trail head close to the parking lot their is this mural painted on the side of this water treatment facility and it's so unusual if anyone had any insight as to what it means please let me know.
