This place has so much potential! The restaurant is attached to the hotel. Additionally, if you show your room card you get 15% off your bill. The food was really good. Probably the best Flautas we have ever had. They were filled with plenty of filling and the sauces that came with them were amazing. The crab and shrimp quesadillas were exceptional and had plenty of flavor. The steak tacos were filled and the meat was tender.
I would recommend getting the appetizer version of the chicken flautas versus the dinner as you get two more flautas, unless you really want the rice and beans.
Now here comes the reason that the restaurant only has three stars. First off it took forever to get a waiter over to our table and they were not busy in the seating area, as you can see when I took the dining room photo. When the waiter came, he smelled of alcohol and had the demeanor or someone intoxicated with slow slurred speech and reactions. When he took our order he messed up on everything. The server came over to our table to deliver our food and it was nothing that we had order. There then appeared to be some confrontation with our waiter and the food server. The food was then taken back and the waiter came over to re-take our order. By now two other tables were seated and they were getting there food.
We never received a refill on our water or was asked how anything was after we got her food. We also happened over here to other tables around us stating that their bills were wrong and they had to get a manager to correct it. A female manager was walking around collecting all the errors our waiter was doing this evening. The unfortunate part was the female manager never apologized to any of the tables or us for any of the inconvenience and or stress caused by such confusion. The waiter never apologized and actually came over and had the audacity to ask if we wanted some dessert.
When we received our bill, of course it was incorrect. We advised that we were occupants of the hotel and was advised to shore card for a discount. This was done initially but due to the intoxication of the waiter, I am sure he forgot. The female manager brought the bill over and it had been corrected.
It is unfortunate that this was our first and last experience with this place. The place has some really good food, so if you are willing to roll the dice on service and a proper bill, it might be worth a shot. I am trying to be fair, thus the 3 star, but the complete lack of acknowledgment of the very unprofessional service has left a bad taste...
Read moreWent here with my family and sister, needless to say I was beyond disappointed. When we ordered drinks, they most certainly came out in a reasonable time frame. The problem was with the lemonade that was ordered. The menu stated it was “lemonade” but the drink turned out to be watermelon lemonade. When T asked the waitress what it was when she set it down, she stated it was watermelon. T responded with, I thought this was just regular lemonade and wasn’t happy with the false advertising of the menu or for lack of better words, the lack of information. Waitress didn’t offer to do anything.
Almost all menu items were $15.99 and up with the exception of the kids menu. Kids menu items were $7.00 and up.
Salsa was dark in color, it didn’t taste horrible, but it also wasn’t great. It looked old.
When I asked for Queso, waitress brought out a large bowl of cheese that tasted like Velveta and Rotel Tomatoes. When I asked waitress if she had the white Queso she was snobby in saying they didn’t and reminded us this was a “Tex Mex” place. The Queso was clumpy within minutes of being on the table and had basically no flavor. Pictures included.
I ordered the chicken fajitas for $19.99. They were not worth the $20. No flavor. Everything was bland. I hate being so harsh, but this is by far one of the worst restaurants I’ve ate at.
When we received the bill, I asked if T was going to be charged for the lemonade that came out watermelon flavored. Waitress said yes, but when she went to the back she took it off the bill. That is the only reason I would review this place 1/5 stars.
People that don’t like flavor & seasoning, this is the place for you. Between my Husband and I, and T we’ve eaten at enough restaurants to say the food was not worth the money and the response from the waitress was...
Read moreOMG I HAD THE BEST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE TONIGHT! Before I moved to Minnesota my girls and I stumbled across Chevy’s Fresh Mex. It was across the street from our hotel and we were looking for Mexican food and drinks without having to go in the Mall of America. Well needless to say we feel in love and it became an annual girls trip twice per year. Then right before my son’s first birthday my family and I moved to Minnesota, so to celebrate of course we went to Chevy’s and I was mind blown by the experience! Sombreros, tambourines, and singing! It was an experience like no other! So now that we live here it became a family tradition. However last year we had a horrible experience that left me heartbroken we had a horrible server and the manager wasn’t very much help. As content creators I felt horrible sharing my horrible experience but I wanted to be transparent about what happened and how it made me feel. This year I was so sad because every year my son had a tradition of eating at chevys but after last year I couldn’t bring myself to eat there again! Seeing me so distraught about it a friend suggested calling the restaurant and sharing my feelings and giving them a second chance so we did! I called before heading there and I was surprised to be greeted by such a friendly manager and waitress. We didn’t have to ask for anything and the full experience from food to atmosphere to cleanliness to customer service exceeded my expectations! Not to mention my children were so happy! Thank you manager Diana and the team for making our birthday the best ever. I truly appreciate how the waitress was so patient and friendly with my children as well. I have attached our pictures below of my son and my birthdays over the years from his first birthday til now! He was my very special...
