This hotel has only been open for a few weeks, so they are still working through some quirks such as service levels, timely housekeeping, some finishing touches in the hotel and rooms etc. but we still thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Pros: It is a modern looking hotel and the room we stayed in was very nice. We stayed in the 1 bedroom suite. The king sized bed was extremely comfortable and the room was spacious with a full kitchen and small island which was very convenient.
The bathroom was also spacious and has modern amenities which was appreciated.
The breakfast was fantastic for a free hotel breakfast and changes daily so there was lots of variety.
Location was exceptional, it's less than a 1 minute drive to the Mall of America with extremely easy access to a parking lot with entrance into the mall through the L.L. Bean store. Being this close to the mall it still felt surprisingly quiet and tucked away from the hustle and bustle around the mall. There is a fire station right across from the hotel however it did not impact our stay or cause any disturbances.
The pool area was very well maintained and the pool was clean and kept at a great temperature.
Cons:
Housekeeping / Service needs improvement - this may be impacted due to how recently they opened and they appear to be short staffed. On several occasions we had to ask for toiletries such as toilet paper, towels etc. and after several hours or days with it not arriving we had to go to the front desk to get it ourselves.
No hot tub - My spouse was really hoping they would have one.
Sofa bed was of average comfort. We've stayed at hotels that had a far more comfortable sofa mattress however the kids still didn't seem to mind too much.
Overall we would definitely stay here again, but hoping some of the service levels will improve next time and if so, I would easily change this to a 5...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI booked a one bedroom suite, and when I got to my room, it was a studio. When I contacted the front desk and complained and told her what I paid for online, she told me that they did not have one bedroom suites, even though it is clear on their website that they have one bedroom suites. She would not move me rooms, and she did not even acknowledge that the kind of room I booked existed. so I contacted Priceline and they tried several times to contact the front desk but the woman would not answer the phone since there was only one lady down there at the time since it was around 11 PM at night. I have since talked to Priceline again and they were going to issue me a refund or contact me back which they have not done either. So I just disputed it on my credit card my two day stay since I immediately checked out after checking in, since the lady did not have the type of room that I needed. I needed a one bedroom with a door on the bedroom to make it the one bedroom. I was at the room a total of maybe 45 minutes. And I believe it was a disgruntle employee that was working overnight and my boyfriend is African-American and I donāt think she took too kindly to him since the room was in his name I canāt think of any other reason why this lady would have done these things and wouldāve treated us this way. I would only recommend going to this hotel if you donāt have to deal with the night shift person who is a very grumpy lady that clearly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI really wanted to like this place. The hotel itself is nice. The rooms are updated and in good repair. The location was fantastic. The front desk was extremely nice and the kitchen staff were friendly and busy at breakfast. There were several downsides, which make me hesitant to stay here again. Breakfast was constantly running out, which makes me think they were short staffed, because the staff there were busting their butts. You could only get in from outside through the front door, the key cards never worked on any of the other doors, for any of the guests. The pool's towels were hand towels. Housekeeping never came, except for checkout day. Checkout was listed at noon, but housekeeping started knocking on our door at 7:45, waking us up. They must have knocked 5 times between 7:45 and 10:30, coming into our room twice with us still in there, even though we had a do not disturb sign hanging on our door knob (the first time they came in was 7:45 and it woke us up). The first time everyone left the room together to bring things to the vehicle, we were lucky we had grabbed everything left on that trip out. My husband went back to double check that we had remembered to grab everything and was met by housekeeping in our room, who told him rudely to leave and pointed him...
