It’s taken me a year to realize I’ve been blinded by the fact my total bill was $700+ and being told there’s no refund after 24 hours. I wrote in my review it is wearable, and that it is, but recently while visiting my family and wearing my suit for an event they said “Eric sorry but you need a new suit, that one looks terrible.” I think I was trying to keep positive about spending that amount of money on made to measure and then having it look hideous, and instead I was refusing to accept the truth. Others who gave compliments likely weren’t as comfortable as my family to be honest with me. So like many things in life the concept of made to measure sounds good but the reality doesn’t follow through, you won’t get it at Indochino. And I can’t wrap my mind around the fact that when the company messes up this bad on garments there’s no accountability the company might have failed me and no recourse except for me to buy new garments.
I’m usually wary when I read 1 star reviews but here I am writing one. My reason for choosing Indochino was verbally repeated many times to the employee during the measuring process, “when I buy dress pants to fit my waist the hips area and legs are too slim and my pockets bulge open etc.” She assured me over and over her measuring would take care of that. She measured me for relaxed fit. If the pants are relaxed fit I’d hate to see fitted, my legs looked like over-stuffed sausages, I could hardly move in them. Went for the final look and was told they fit just right as far as they were concerned, that there was nothing wrong with them. I was made to feel like I was the problem. After 3 alterations and letting out all there was to let out, they’re barely wearable, but they didn’t offer a fix except to purchase new garments, of course. So, I can wear them without feeling too self conscious that they’re almost leggings but they’re not long enough which is awkward and not my style to show my ankles; it looks like I’m waiting for the flood. The lady who measured also gave some incorrect information, she told us and assured us when we questioned her that their suit pants were washable, which they are not; that had been a big selling point. Sadly I didn’t realize until after wearing the shirts for a couple events that they are so fitted it’s hard to maneuver much in them. brushing my teeth in my dress shirt cuts off my arm circulation, I didn’t notice that at the final look when I tried it on. The final employee who helped me explained their process a bit more in depth which was helpful. The oversees tailors can and do override measurements to fit their proportions as they sew garments. I’m not saying you won’t get good clothing from here, but wish I knew how to somehow get a definite relaxed fit, ask for err on the side of comfort in measuring. Country men who aren’t 100% slim be warned, I think that’s the problem I had. Overall I’m disappointed in my made to measure garments, because they don’t seem made to fit me, which...
Read moreIf you are on the fence about going to Indochino, take the leap and do it! It is a ton of fun and you will not be disappointed. If you are at this location, ask for Andrew. He’ll do an awesome job and help you find your own style and give very helpful input along the way. I’ve heard about Indochino for years - mostly advertised on Podcasts that I listen to - but I didn’t have the opportunity to visit a store until this week. I was hesitant because I have had some not so good experiences with larger chain suit retailers. I felt like other stores were annoyed by me being there (I was always a walk-in). They didn’t always have a tailor on staff, the selection was pretty limited, staff was generally rude and they didn’t appear interested in answering my questions. They always told me what I’d look good in rather than consider my input and it seemed like they didn’t take me seriously because I was under the age of 40. Indochino was different on all levels! Setting up the appointment was super easy online. I got several emails and a phone call confirming the appointment within a day of booking. When I showed up, I was welcomed in the store because they were expecting me! I was helped by Andrew, who answered all my questions and was quick to tell me interesting stories about the history of costuming and tailoring. We didn’t just pick the customizations on my suits, he gave specific reasons for his recommendations and even threw in a few interesting tidbits about why certain things are beneficial toward achieving a certain look. I didn’t take all of his advice, and he didn’t seem put out at all! He kept saying he wanted to make sure that I got the suit that I wanted. He was a younger guy, too, closer to my age (late 20s, early 30s) and someone I feel like I could relate to. He made the entire process fun! He was courteous and professional. There were only two staff members minding the store when I was there, which meant Andrew had to leave me a few times to help walk in customers. He did so in a way that didn’t make me feel like he was abandoning me, but also treated the walk-ins with courtesy and respect. Fast-forward two weeks: my suits and pants come in; everything looked good, except my jacket sleeves were just a little longer than I would have liked. I email Indochino, fearing that my amazing experience thus-far would be sullied. The exact opposite! A rep emails me back within a day and a half apologizing and telling me that the company will reimburse me ($50 for a jacket, $50 for a pair of pants) for alterations if I take it to a local tailor and email Indochino an itemized receipt. I did that, and get an email back saying not only will they reimburse me, but they'll update my measurements online so the next jacket I order will be perfect!!! The Indochino model is so cool and I am so happy I finally took the plunge! Indochino: you've got yourselves a...
Read moreThis store doesn’t explicitly state that you can only visit the store if you have an appointment, so my fiancé and I visited the storefront to look at and feel some colors and materials in person, as well as to ask some simple questions about lead time, their process, accessories, etc. as we compare brands (since mind you, this is our first time shopping for groomsmen outfits for our own wedding). They didn’t note on their storefront that you could go in and talk to someone only if you had an appointment. We went in and felt absolutely invisible. There was someone working up front at the computer, on his phone, and didn’t pay any attention to the fact that we were there. Period. It could have been as simple as him looking up at us, and stating that we need an appointment, and we would be on our way. Since he didn’t notice us, another man came up from the back of the store and asked if we had been helped yet and if we had an appointment. We said no. This is where he could have politely said that we needed an appointment to talk about specific groomsmen and suit details. But no. He asked when our wedding was in an annoyed manner, we said it’s later this year, and rudely responded to come back later since it was too much time before our actual wedding day. What if we wanted to know the general color and feel for the suits so we can develop our overall vision? Why should we have to wait until 3 months before our wedding date to know the general groomsmen aesthetic? Again, we simply wanted to ask some questions and see the materials in person. He then proceeded to ask me (the bride) what the bridesmaid colors were going to be, criticized the color I was using and pompously asked why I would use that color with no respect, and then walked us over to his computer to pull up random color swatches. He was absolutely no help and questioned our color choices, as if I haven’t been envisioning this day since our engagement, and since I was young. He was NOT professional and extremely disrespectful. I will add too, that he then proceeded to recommend another company to get ties through - wouldn’t you want your employees to sell your products, rather than someone else’s? I don’t know this man’s name, but if I had it, I would leave it so your company could be aware of your rude employees.
DON’T have a storefront if your employees aren’t going to be friendly to the customers coming into your store to ask innocent questions, especially if you’re situated in a mall where it’s easy to stop by in the midst of their shopping. Otherwise have a CLEAR sign indicating that you need an appointment. This was not an experience where we felt valued, and we will be doing business elsewhere. Friendly customer service is EXTREMELY...
