My wife and I went in for a couples massage. From the beginning the service was terrible. We had to call a number and when we did the girl on the other end sounded annoyed that we were a few minutes early. Instead of it being a true couples massage we were taken to separate rooms. We were told because of covid but that does not make sense. The place is in a old converted house where there is limits to how well you could actually social distance. When we originally booked we were told that they would do a couples massage where we could be together. The massage itself was extremely disappointing. Instead of actually working out any knots the massage therapist only aggravated them. From the beginning it seemed like she had no real training and was just making things up as she went. My wife's massage was even worse. All the therapist really did was argue the whole time with her. And instead of holding onto her own massage lotion she used my wife and just rested the lotion on her! What legitimate massage therapist does something like that? In the end we paid for 2 1hr massages. My massage ended up being 55 minutes before the massage therapist decided she was done and my wife's massage barely made it to 50 minutes before the massage therapist quit. This place is not worth the money. Just go somewhere else or don't get a massage at all. Trust me you will feel the...
Read moreMy boyfriend took me to Glenwood for my birthday. We both needed a relaxing vacation. We had massages and facials scheduled at Yampah, and the day before we left, we checked the reviews and saw many dissatisfied massage customers. So we called and cancelled. We noticed that Splendor Mountain had sooooo many positive reviews from locals, and locals always know best. So we scheduled a couples massage and facial package. I’m quite a massage snob, I have had neck and upper back pain for years. I usually have to correct my masseuse or give them some sort of direction during the massage. I didn’t have to do any of that here. Laura worked on me and she is a massage therapist as well as physical therapist. I can honestly say it was the BEST massage I have ever had!!! Ever!!! I would make the trip just for another massage! The Holistic facial was wonderfully relaxing as well. I can never fully relax during a massage and facial, I was fully able to relax during these because it was obvious that these ladies (Laura and Christine) knew what they were doing. I definitely definitely recommend going here!!! It’s located in a small home type building walking distance from The Hotel Denver and Glenwood Hot springs resort. The staff was so...
Read moreWe recently stayed in the cottage. Pro’s: Beautiful small cottage, mini kitchen to cook your food. probably good place to stay in winter. Con’s: there is no centralised AC, worst place to stay in extreme summer. Outdated Window AC is there in mini kitchen area, with an open gap (refer photo) below the window AC unit. Room never cools down during the day. There is a glass on the ceiling, covered with a cloth (refer photo) that adds more heat to the room. Temperature was always above 80F with AC on. Window AC is super noisy to sleep at night. The listing says there is AC but doesn’t state what I have stated here. For the price that we paid, there should be a centralised AC during extreme hot temperature. While communicated with owner, she stated that we can open the windows in evening to cool the room and told sorry. She assumed that the cottage should be cool with the ancient window AC and the fan. I am not sure whether a sorry will suffice the sleepless nights that we had and sweating days that we had inside...
