This review is if you are booking a block of rooms:

This beautiful hotel had the best deal for a wedding block in the area by far. However, if I could do it again, I would go to another hotel. The sales representative we were assigned was rude, inattentive, and did not follow through on many items. For the amount of business that we provided this establishment, I felt much less than valued. We filled this hotel with about 30 rooms for the wedding night alone; not to mention the amount of family members that stayed multiple nights as most family was from out of town.

It was the worst customer service I've ever had. We explained our situation right from the beginning, wanting to book 25-30 rooms right away. we were quickly talked out of booking and just going with the courtesy block. This sounded great as we didn't need to put any money down and were told that the block would repopulate as the slots were filled. This was a generous exaggeration. We had to email multiple times letting the sales rep know that our block was booking up and we needed more rooms. We averaged about 1 weeks time from initial request to population of more rooms every time it was requested. Most people book over the weekend and the sales rep doesn't work the weekends -- so when our block filled up in that time frame, it turned our guests away from the hotel all together.

Beware being sweet talked into this hotel by their "perks". We were told we would get points from every guest that stays in our block -- this ended up not even being enough points for 1/2 the price of 1 night at this establishment. Again, for the amount of business we gave them it seemed grossly skewed from what we were lead to believe we would receive. When I asked the rep why the number was so low, I was told that it would have been much higher if I would have ordered food from them.... I had guests tell me that they felt we were not as valued of a block because we were not hosting our entire wedding at this venue. That pretty much...

For our wedding, we used the Hilton Garden Inn for our room block as well as to get ready the day of our wedding. We loved having them for our room block, as we got married at The Grain Exchange just across the street, making it convenient for our guests. The building is beautiful, and wowed us and our guests. We are still getting compliments over a month later on how beautiful the hotel was.

We worked with Anne regarding our room block, as well as renting their bridal room and grooms space to get ready the day of our wedding. Anne was very professional and got back to us quickly with all of our questions and when we kept asking her who all rented rooms so far. The only thing that was frustrating was that there was a 2-night minimum stay that they could not waive for our room block which deterred many of our out-of-town guests from staying with us.

When we got there, Kris at the front desk was very welcoming to our families. He made everyone feel welcome and made sure no one needed anything.

As for the bridal room, I was taken away with how large it was. It even had the chairs that go up and down like at the beauty salon so my hair and makeup stylist could be comfortable. As for the groom’s space, it was originally going to be in an open area on the first floor by the lobby. But with it being open, the guys didn’t feel very comfortable, so they ended up moving them to a conference room downstairs. There was a food and beverage minimum with renting these spaces, but it actually worked out really well because I didn’t have to worry about coordinating breakfast or lunch. They had a menu that I received in advance and sent out to our bridal party and then I just let them know what everyone wanted. It was delivered straight to this room, and everyone loved the delicious food!

Once again, the staff at the Hilton Garden Inn were extremely accommodating to us. I am very glad we used them for our room block, but even more so as a space for us to get ready the day of...

Nestled in the heart of downtown Milwaukee, the Hilton Garden Inn occupies the beautifully restored Loyalty Building, originally the 1886 Richardsonian Romanesque headquarters of Northwestern Mutual . From the moment you step inside, you’re immersed in history: a grand six‑story atrium capped by an ornate iron-and-glass skylight, original mosaic tile floors in earth tones laid in intricate geometric patterns, marble columns, bronze balustrades, and even vault-like safes preserved on multiple levels .

The architecture isn’t just aesthetic—all throughout the public spaces, thoughtfully placed displays and signage guide guests through the building’s layered past. A self‑guided mobile tour explains the design choices, the source of Maine and Indiana stone, and the building’s transformation over the years . This educational approach adds real depth, ensuring visitors appreciate not only the beauty but the story behind it.

Inside the one‑bedroom suite we stayed in, the historical charm meets modern comfort flawlessly. With soaring ceilings—14 ft in every room—the layout felt spacious and open. The suite featured a well‑designed living area, plush comfortable bed, crisp linens, and a spotless, well‑maintained bathroom complete with a luxurious shower. Large windows overlooked the atrium, filling the space with natural light. Staff were consistently warm, attentive, and notably proud of their hotel’s heritage—a caring touch that enriched our stay.

The breakfast offering (buffet at the Garden Grille) runs just over $20 with tax and tip. While not complimentary, it represents solid value: a good selection of hot items, fresh fruit, pastries, and beverages in a pleasant historic-dining setting. It provided an energizing start to each day without...
