City Social Bar and Grill on Water Street — Restaurant in Milwaukee

Drinks were good and strong. Service and food okay. Nice location & clean bathrooms. What left a bad taste in my mouth was the fact we weren’t given itemized receipts.

The waitress only verbally told us our totals and when I heard mine, it was more than what I expected to pay. I paid on the electronic device the waitress presented to us and emailed myself a receipt.

When I checked the receipt, I was charged $2 more than what I was told for fries and there was an automatic gratuity. We were unaware of the gratuity but I’m aware automatic gratuity is becoming the norm so it wasn’t a big deal. I tipped on top of the auto gratuity but when I informed the waitress that she charged me the wrong price for fries, she was apologetic but offered no remedy. I would usually ask for a manager to resolve the issue but I wasn’t in the mood.

Overall, not a terrible experience but sharing mine so that hopefully those minor improvements will be made on their end. If I come here again, it’ll probably be just for drinks and I’ll make sure to request a paper receipt...

I went on a Saturday so it was more of a club scene, which is not my scene but I went for the food. It was worth it. The food, the service, the music, and the atmosphere was really nice. No matter how busy it was our server Desiree got drinks and food out in a timely manner. I will definitely be returning. Btw, I went Upstairs to a second level part they have for the grown & sexy and the ambiance of that part was so dope. So much better than downstairs but a reservation is definitely a must and don't be late. I had 8pm reservations but arrived at 8:50 because my group wanted to go somewhere else but they were booked so we were late and just barely got a table. As a matter a fact the last available table literally. I think the only con was the table turnover rate is slim to none on a Saturday. Once people sit they are probably there for hours enjoying the club like scene, the music, and hookah. So I saw people coming in and they were just standing around the bar...

was very very disappointed. i enjoyed coming here but after this i found out the menu has changed and they didn’t have what they used to have. i tried something else and couldn’t even enjoy or finish it. it was all smothered in sauce. my rice was all soggy as shown in the picture. i wish they didn’t put that much in it. also had the smothered chicken and was disappointed. the gravy doesn’t go well with the chicken. i will not be coming here again after this time. i wish they still had the other menu options. also the service wasn’t good. it wasn’t busy just one more table with customers and our server only came to us to get our order and drop the food off. we had to wait at least 15 min for the check. after we asked for to go boxes we had to wait a while after to receive our check. the atmosphere is good. the appetizers were also very good those didn’t disappoint at all. i wish the rice was fresh. tasted like it came from the...
