Village Center - South Lake Tahoe — Attraction in South Lake Tahoe

The village shopping center is the perfect place to spend your day or evening. It is most busy in the winter time when the ski slopes are open but it is good to go year round. Fire+ice, base camp pizza, gun barrel, and kalanis are all some of my favorite spots to go and are amazing! There are also a few other restaurants on the street side of the village like Azul and a burger spot. In the winter time they have an ice skating rink and in the summer it I'd usually mini golf right there. You also have an abundance of shops and a movie theater. The fashion magic show in "the loft" is a great show to see on any given night as well. On Tahoe Time is one of my favorite shops as well.

They have easy to access public bathrooms, atms and there I'd plenty of parking right in the garage.

We had a nice lunch, then left the property. Returned a short time later and went to one of the art galleries. Because the start time of our first visit and the time we left after the second visit was greater than two hours, we got a $200 parking ticket! We tried to fight it, explaining that the cumulative time in the lot was less than the two hours posted (we were even in a different parking space). After "review" (which took less than 15 seconds ... no joke!), our next option was to appear in person. They knew we were visitors and it would cost more than $200 to fight it, so we paid it. My family recently went to visit South Lake Tahoe and stopped to park at the center, walked around, went to Starbucks for an hour or so to relax with a beverage and walk through the center as we love to do so. When we decided to leave, not really keeping track of time there was a ticket for $200 on our vehicle, apparently we exceeded the 2 hr time limit. I contested the ticket explaining we were actually patrons of the center and explained our day, response was ticket upheld and request denied. Please keep in mind the parking lot was virtually empty. I don't think this money grab by the center is good for the reputation of South Lake and are extremely disappointed at this treatment to visitors...
