BEWARE! Behavior is unforgivable! We were so impressed with the pottery that we saw, and were amazed how gorgeous everything was! We even took a business card at first because we were from out of state and would have a hard time transporting any items back. Unfortunately for us, the women working at the desk were rude. When we first arrived, no one even said hello, just continued their conversation with one another and pretended we weren't there after they glanced at us. When we made our way over to the counter to ask about business cards is when they finally acknowledged us. Ten minutes later, one came to ask where we were from, gave a brief history of the gallery and their artists, then went back to work (this part was completely fine). The other woman, who had hair in a low bun, looked my mother up and down, saw that she was wearing shorts, a t-shirt, and a fanny-pack (because we had just come back from a hike) rolled her eyes and let out a loud sigh at her then looked away. It's amazing how she wouldn't even give us the time of day. Judging people based on outward appearance just shows her true personality as ugly; we had just bought some nice handmade mugs and necklaces from another gallery around the area and everyone there was so nice and helpful! The whiplash was incredible. As a fellow artist, I recommend the artists work with new galleries to showcase their art, because there are plenty better options around. I wouldn't want my work to be showcased by pretentious and judgmental people because that reflects on who I do business. I wouldn't want their negativity...
Read moreThis is one of the handful of gallery & gift shops located along Zion Park Blvd. that we visited during a recent stay in Springdale. Worthington has several gallery rooms with quite a bit of inventory on display. Opening hours are 10am to 7.30pm daily.
Here you will find a wide selection of handmade items including pottery, jewellery, sculpture, glass, paintings and some interesting mobile wind sculptures sourced by local and regional artists. The shop appears to be geared for large tour groups which might make a larger number of purchases yet it caters to individual customers just the same.
We enjoyed browsing the Worthington Gallery. Much to view and potentially purchase here if you are seeking unique souvenir purchases during your holiday to Zion...
Read moreWe tried to buy a beautiful watercolor that was clearly priced at $400. The salesgirl went to ring it up and couldn't find it in the computer, asked the owner and they claimed it was mislabeled (by their own staff) and was actually $500. The owner claimed it was not their fault that the wrong price was posted below the painting, and would not sell it to us at the $400 price shown. So, before you fall in love with anything in this store, make sure you find what the "real" price is, not the posted one. We left without the painting. I would not recommend shopping here as the owner was quite aggressive; she wasn't remotely apologetic and was very defensive about...
