I recently visited Scout Bar and Grill in Zion, Utah, with high hopes based on the reviews. Unfortunately, my experience was far from what I expected. Despite the unique atmosphere, the service was disappointing. A spill at our table wasn’t addressed promptly, and there was a significant communication barrier between the server and kitchen. My husband’s order was mishandled, and we weren’t informed until much later that it wasn’t available. Frustrated, he walked out.
Meanwhile, my daughter and I received our food, which sat in plain sight for over ten minutes before I had to ask for it. There was a communication barrier with the staff member I asked, and our server didn’t acknowledge the delay. Additionally, she forgot my daughter’s dessert until I reminded her, and when it arrived, it tasted stale. At one point, the server mentioned she had never worked the lunch shift before, and it was the cook’s third day — which explained some of the confusion but didn’t excuse the lack of communication or attentiveness. To make matters worse, the restaurant wasn’t even busy, so there was no clear reason for such slow, inattentive service. Despite the manager being aware of the situation, he never came to speak with us.
Ultimately, we left without finishing our meals. Overall, a truly disappointing experience, especially considering the cost. I hope they can improve their service because, as it stands, I won’t...
Read moreThis is a beautiful space and hotel here in Zion but this review is based on my interaction with Thaby: what a beautiful spirit to be greeted by after a very long day. I am so glad I met her stopping in for a midnight schnack at 9:08pm arriving much later than expected in Zion. I have never been here before and am traveling with my mother. We had been on the road allllllll day driving in & were tired, H.A.N.G.R.Y. & realizing nothing is open past 9pm in Zion with the exception of a speakeasy I misread for a steakhouse and Scout! Scout legit saved our lives!!! When Thaby handed me a menu, she was so inviting & welcomed me to stay to eat despite it now being almost 9:15pm. I think she knew I needed a moment at her bar ✨ I quickly ordered food to get that going while eyeing the martini next to me ….added an espresso martini to boot. The food came out quickly and tasted great! The brisket was a little tough but the flavor was there … Chris promptly handled the situation & the chef came out to personally apologize WITH cheesecake. This is the customer service we need in the world today. I always hate to provide negative feedback… especially when you arrive to eat in at close but it provided an opportunity for me to witness how amazing this team truly is. Thaby, thank you for the chats, your smile & lovely spirit… the martini was...
Read moreWhile staying at the incredibly cool Red Cliffs Zion Hotel, I had the pleasure of dining at Scout Restaurant not once, but four times and every single experience was absolutely fantastic.
From breakfast to dinner, everything I tried was fresh, flavorful, and nicely presented. In the mornings, I kept coming back for the avocado toast and chicken sausage, simple dishes, but elevated in a way that made them memorable. Lunch featured the Sassy Bird Chicken Sandwich, which quickly became a favorite. It’s crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor definitely a standout.
Dinner was where things really shined. The salmon was perfectly cooked, and the smoked brisket was tender, rich, and smoky without being overpowering. Pair any of it with one of their cocktails the drink menu is creative and well thought out. These aren’t your basic drinks you could mix up at home; each one felt like it was crafted with intention and balance.
The service was friendly, attentive, and efficient every time, which only added to the experience. Whether you’re staying at Red Cliffs or just passing through the area, Scout is an absolute must. I’ll...
