It’s a cute little place, cozy and quaint. It seems to be supported by their community and regular customers, including bikers who seem to know the staff and owner/manager pretty well, based on the chatter.
Restroom is cute too, with the sliding door. They have a small corner for retail items. It’s a unique place with art on the walls.
We went with a tour group, Max Tours. We were 13 people in the group. Max Tours had pre-ordered the sandwiches according to each person’s preference. When we reached there, Jim, our tour guide told the lady at the cash that the group had arrived. After a few minutes, the sandwiches and the wraps were all placed on the table, half of which HAD NO LABELS. So people who were vegetarian and those who pre-ordered sandwiches with meat did not know which sandwich/wrap contained what. The person from the kitchen came out and opened the wraps and lifted the bread slices to peek into what each wrapped sandwich contained, and then to call out as each item was opened. This was the worst system I’ve ever seen. I’m sure Deep Creek didn’t open yesterday and they would have had a system in place but it sure didn’t look like it. Everyone in the group was patient but we were all very disgusted with how our orders were handled. They weren’t even sorry it happened. I also probably chose the worst possible item in their menu. Maybe all the other sandwiches and food were way better than what I had ordered. The menu items all sounded delish, the bagels and other breakfast meals looked delish but definitely not the veggie burrito or the other lunch sandwiches my tour mates had.
It had no taste, it was soggy, it wasn’t tightly wrapped so the veggies were spilling out easily and at the end, I disposed half of it. I’m used to eating vegetarian burritos and I like them a lot but this one just didn’t make it. Maybe improve on the flavour or just remove it completely from the menu?
When the group later on chatted in the van about the terrible meal we had and how the order was so mishandled, our tour guide mentioned that it wasn’t the first time Max Tours was given an attitude by this company. I really don’t know why and maybe it won’t matter since we are just travellers who won’t be passing this way again, but it disappoints me to see such a cute cafe not care at all to label the orders and then open each to identify the content, which ultimately negatively affected the experience...
Read moreWe stopped at Deep Creek Coffee for breakfast before heading into the Narrows for a long hike and it was a great spot to load up. I went with the Bro-rito and I have to say this has to be top 5 breakfast burritos I have ever had. Eggs were cooked perfectly, not dry, just light and moist with great flavor. The potatoes and sausage had the right seasoning and the perfect amount of salt. I was a little hesitant about the beans and spinach combo but it worked and actually gave each bite a nice balance. My wife got the Milo smoothie and I had the Chaka and both were refreshing and fruity, mine had a strong peach flavor that I loved. The quickdraw sandwich my wife got was alright, not the greatest and the flavor was a bit odd and we ended up throwing it away - so I would say its a no go and stick with the burrito and smoothies! The food itself was spot on and I would absolutely come back for that burrito again. The one downside was the staff. They seemed bothered by simple questions and at one point almost denied our friend a change to her burrito when she asked for no cheese. The way it was handled felt off and even the lady behind us in line commented on it. Maybe it was a bad day but it was noticeable. Overall though the food and smoothies were excellent and if you are looking for a solid breakfast before exploring Zion, I would still recommend...
Read moreAround late this morning, I went to purchase some type of coffee flavor then when it was my turn to come up, Alexis, stepped away as the older lady said she had to get a break then will be back. After she came back, I asked her the difference and prices of the flavored coffee as I couldn't make up my mind which and the price was a bit steep for a small after I realized that's what we pay. Across the street is even better due to when asked what was funny, the older lady said 'nothing' but to me when someone laughs than is considered like 'buillying' someone, especially when the cashiers' suppose to be professional and respectful to customers especially to a disable veteran, which I didn't get from the older and or Alexis. The bathrooms is pretty weird as not explained to me from one of the ladies that is slides open, not just push open, like normal doors do. There needs to be a little more kindness and not laugh at me or to me because I still don't know if it was personal to take or not. I will put this on other...
