Dining out is often meant to be a pleasant experience—a time to relax, enjoy good food, and share moments with friends or family. Unfortunately, not all restaurants uphold the basic standards of hospitality. Our recent visit to a local restaurant was an eye-opening example of just how much poor customer service can ruin an outing, even before a single order is placed.
Upon arrival, we were surprised to find the restaurant almost entirely empty. Naturally, we assumed we would be seated quickly. However, despite being the only guests in sight, we were made to wait an unreasonably long time just to be acknowledged. There was no line, no rush, and certainly no excuse for the delay. The staff member who finally approached us gave off an air of irritation, as if our presence was a burden rather than a welcome opportunity for business.
Things only worsened once we were seated. The host assigned us to a table that was clearly too small for our party. When we politely requested a second table to ensure everyone had enough space, he flat-out refused, insisting we make do with the cramped arrangement. There was no attempt to accommodate, no understanding of our reasonable request—just a sharp tone and an unwillingness to help.
The overall attitude was appalling. The employee acted as though he was doing us a favor by letting us dine there at all. His rudeness was not just unpleasant; it was outright unprofessional. There was no greeting, no warmth, and certainly no customer service. Faced with such hostility and discomfort, we ultimately made the difficult decision to leave before even placing an order.
In the service industry, attitude is everything. Even the best food in the world cannot make up for being treated with disrespect. This experience served as a clear reminder of how essential good service is in hospitality. We did not come to be belittled or dismissed—we came to share a meal and enjoy time together. Sadly, this restaurant failed to offer even the most basic courtesies and lost our business before it had a...
Read moreLet me put it plainly: I don’t care how good your food might be if your staff acts like they’d rather fight me than serve me.
We walked into this place expecting a decent lunch after a long morning, and instead, we got side-eyed like we were inconveniencing them by showing up. The restaurant was nearly empty—empty—and still, we stood around like ghosts while the staff pretended we didn’t exist. No greeting, no smile, not even a “just a moment.” Just pure attitude.
When someone finally dragged themselves over, it was like pulling teeth just to get seated. And when they did seat us? They stuck us at a table way too small for our group, like we were being punished for daring to exist in multiples. So we asked—politely, mind you—if we could push a second table over. Reasonable, right? Not according to our server, who acted like we’d just asked him to rearrange the entire dining room with a forklift.
And guess what? He said NO, all while glaring at us like we were the rude ones. Not even a compromise. No “let me see what I can do,” just a flat-out refusal and a healthy dose of condescension. I don’t care what kind of day you’re having—that’s not how you treat paying customers.
At that point, we looked at each other, and the decision was mutual: we’re not giving this place a dime. We walked out without ordering, because no meal is worth being treated like a burden. I don’t care if they serve Michelin-starred Mongolian beef—if your hospitality is that bad, you’ve already lost.
Here’s a tip: if your attitude makes people walk out before the food even hits the table, your business isn’t going to last. We came in hungry. We left insulted. And even more hungry.
Wouldn’t recommend....
Read moreWe had a group of 15, but we were the only ones in the restaurant on a Monday evening.
The waiter (Joe) started of by suggesting that we order similar dishes, but separate orders (I guess to make cooking easier while still getting the same money). His treatment of our group would get worse from there.
He served us ice water that had a garlic smell to it.
I asked for a spoon because I was not provided one to eat with and he said he couldn't give me one because they would take additional time to wash it afterwards.
When the food came, the chicken orders (general chicken and, sweet and sour) had a bitter aftertaste. The hot and sour soup I ordered was one of the worst ones I tried. I was really hungry so I ordered a coke to just shove the food down my throat since I was already paying for my food.
When two other people in our group ordered a coke, he asked why are we ordering cokes one by one instead of all at the same time. If he was too lazy to get cokes from his fridge which was a few steps away, he should've asked who else wanted one.
Prior to leaving, he saw my friend leaving the restaurant a bad review and he cursed him out asking why a bad review was being left if the food was eaten. I guess he doesn't realize that service (and also taste) is what keeps a customer happy.
Well never ever go back to this place again. He probably only stays in business due to being one of only a few Asian restaurants in the area.
To make things worse, they charge an automatic 15 percent service charge per dine-in order..so you pay regardless if you get treated like...
