I stayed at the Zion Park Motel on Monday, July 8th, 9th and 10th, checked out July 11th, 2024. I highly recommend choosing the Zion Park Motel for its location, cleanliness, breakfast, excellent free wifi, and good value. If you are looking for a family owned, well maintained hotel/motel with great amenities then choose the Zion Park Motel.

The Zion Park Motel is on the free Shuttle route to/from Zion National Park, and actually walking distance as it is just about a mile to the entrance. It is located next to and near places to get food, gifts and do laundry. There is parking for your car right outside your room door, and a cute pool and poolside seating area. The reception area is just the right size for the helpful and friendly staff to help with check in and to answer questions/provide information.
I booked a room with two queen beds which included free (fast) wifi, a TV, microwave, small refridgerator, and a full bathroom. There was also a small table with two chairs, along with a bedside nightstand. The large shower had excellent water pressure and plenty of hot water. The beds were comfortable. The air conditioning worked well which was appreciated because the daytime tempuratures exceeded 100 degrees while I was visiting Zion National Park.
I was impressed with the free breakfast provided daily. The Zion Park Motel provides registered guests with a breakfast meal voucher to use at an excellent restaurant located next door called Porter's. Porter's food and staff were wonderful and a great way to start the day before heading to Zion (on the free Shuttle) to hike and explore. I enjoyed the omlettes and coffee, and left full enough to skip lunch each day. The only cost was my tip for the waitstaff.
Again, I highly recommend the...
Read moreI spent all day hiking the Narrows Top down. It was over 16 miles of trudging my way through a cold river. The long shuttle ride back to the Hotel took about an hour. The whole time I was wet and I was cold. All I could think about was a hot shower and dry clothes.
I never wanted a hot shower more in my life than after hiking the Narrows Top Down. I wasn't even willing to wait for the water to warm because I was covered in sand and dirt, and already cold. As the cold water hit me, I was praying for warmth that never came. About the time I realized that this water was not going to get warm, I opted to just quickly wash myself down and get out.
I was more than willing to pay the premium to stay here due to the convenient location. However, for $160 a night, not being able to take a hot shower is completely inexcusable.
When I brought it up to the owner, they acted as if I didn't know how to use the shower. I used it the night before and it worked beautifully. They didn't believe seem to believe me, and thought they could go fix it now and everything would be right.
No. Having to take a cold shower after the Narrows Top Down hike where I was price gouged on a hotel room for $160 is what I will remember most about my trip to Zion.
It should also be noted the owner threatened to kick me out for using cuss words. I feel like they are in the wrong business (encouraging international tourists) if they are so bothered by cussing. For $160 a night and a cold shower, they got some nerve to tell me I can't cuss.
Maybe this was all just terribly bad luck, but there is no 2nd chance. Stay at a nicer hotel that won't have problems with warm water. All of the hotels in that are are close to the same...
Read moreExcellent little motel. On the outside, it is nothing to write home about, but the room was extremely clean. Bed was comfortable. And they have a reserved parking spot for each room, right in front of your door. This was important to us, as we were travelling, and needed to swap items in/out of luggage.
And the breakfast. Oh my. They don't serve breakfast, but instead give you a coupon to Porters next door. You might think, oh, sure, but you get what, a waffle? Nope, huge omelet , potatoes, coffee, toast. It was superb. The breakfast would have been 30-40 bucks - and worth it. But it is included. Obviously, tip your wait staff!!!!!! But factor that breakfast into your costs. The Zion Park would be a deal even without the breakfast, but with it? It becomes a no brainer.
As for location, it is maybe a mile (probably less) to the entrance to Zion.
If I am back in Zion, this will definitely be the place I stay. Don't let the quirky, older looking décor deter you. It is clean and comfortable.
Oh, and the staff. The front desk was great. Asked about the brew pub (also excellent), and they said it was great, and also mentioned some other places. We were only there for a short time, so did not get to experience those places. Guess we...
