Terrible Experience - Unreliable Communication and Poor Service||I booked a one-night stay at Hotel Ebersbach through Booking.com, prepaying in full. The hotel's communication was inconsistent and misleading, causing significant stress and inconvenience during our stay.||Parking and Entry Issues||Initially, the hotel informed us that car entry into the historic city center is prohibited from 10:30 to 15:00. We were told we could drive directly to the hotel outside these hours with a permit purchased at the hotel for 100 CZK. However, when we arrived at 15:30, we were stopped by the police and not allowed to enter the town by car at all, as the entire old town was closed for a festival. This crucial detail was never communicated to us, causing significant issues as I have back problems and cannot carry heavy luggage.||Unhelpful Staff and Parking Chaos||The hotel staff provided no assistance other than telling us to find parking and walk. The nearest parking lot, P1, advised for parking by the hotel in the written guidance, was full, as were other parkings in the walking distance from the hotel. The only solution recommended by the hotel was to wait in the car near one of the parking until someone leaves, which could have taken hours. We finally found a spot in a parking lot 15 minutes drive away, and had to pay more than double the parking rate. Despite explaining my health condition and the undue stress caused, no compensation was offered.||Festival Entry Tickets||We had to purchase 16 Euro festival tickets to enter the town on foot. The hotel mentioned a discount in their email, but it was negligible (€1 off). This added an extra, unexpected cost to our stay.||Entry Card Malfunction||Returning to the hotel at 22:00, neither of our entry cards worked. We stood outside for 15 minutes until a staff member happened to be leaving and let us in. She found that the cards didn't work and had to replace them. If we had arrived later, we wouldn't have been able to enter the hotel.||We spent around €300 for one night stay and we expected much better communication and service. Instead, we experienced significant stress, physical discomfort, and poor treatment. I am extremely disappointed and would not recommend this hotel to anyone, as no solution is being proposed in case of any issues. And there were too many of them in one go.||Neither reimbursement of the additional unexpected costs nor compensation for the inconveniences were offered.||Moreover, hotel manager write that all the above is ok and she doesnt see the reason for...

Read moreSpending a few nights in the Edward Kelly suite of this 17th-century hotel was certainly a memorable experience. At first, as Australians, we were puzzled to see a suite named after “Ned Kelly,” an the infamous bushranger from back home. We even spotted a nearby restaurant bearing the same name! A little digging revealed the difference: this “Edward Kelly” was an English alchemist, best known for his exploits with Emperor Rudolf II in Prague. He dabbled in alchemy, claimed to talk to spirits, and was later accused of fraud and forgery. Not quite our Ned Kelly, but an intriguing historical twist all the same.||The hotel itself is steeped in history, having once been a brewery and even a prison. The building originated from two houses joined together in the 1600s, and today each room is individually decorated in period style. Our suite was spacious, with a comfortable bed, a small shared sitting area, and a bathroom featuring a bathtub. The bath, however, came with some quirks: the handheld shower sits above it, but with no curtain and high narrow sides; it was a challenge to get in and out without a bit of gymnastics and a puddle on the floor!||Another detail worth noting are the sloped ceiling beams above the bed. They certainly added character, but as a taller guest I had to stay alert to avoid a bump on the head. The suite didn’t include a fridge, laundry service, or full coffee setup however an electric kettle was provided. Our suite had air-conditioning. It was also very quiet. ||Breakfast provided both continental and cooked options. There was also a number of outdoor seating areas scattered through the property. Above all, the location couldn’t have been better. It was right in the centre of town, perfect for wandering the historic streets, hidden corners, and local sights.||If you value charm, history, and atmosphere over the uniform conveniences of modern hotels, this place is a gem. We’d recommend choosing one of the suites to truly soak up its unique character...
