I have to say that I was concerned about this pension given the few (but bad) reviews it has. However, our experience here in a long March weekend was just amazing. We came for my wife's birthday and I have to say that we will never forget how great the whole time was.||That was mainly because of the great staff. It is a family business and indeed the whole family is toiling on the property. They were extremely nice, obliging, doing everything they could to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Coffees ready any time in the morning (in the room or in the restaurant). They have arranged for us a trip to a wellness hotel in one of the days, got us discounted parking tickets and didn't know what to do to make a table available for us anytime we got back here for dinner. (See my separate review for their restaurant).||Whatever problems we had in the room (bulbs needing replacement, etc.): were all solved and apologies received.||Indeed, as other reviewers said, the pension is located very close to a bar where they throw noisy parties. But Kristinka's people can't do much about it... It was very close to us, but as we kept the window closed (it was also a very wintry night), we could rest very well.||The location is great, in the old town, very close to one of the parking lots where the car can be dropped.||We had a good time: when we left, the whole staff lined up and greeted us. We will definitely return. For easygoing people who like a great welcome and warm people, this...
Read moreMy dining experience at this restaurant was nothing short of a nightmare. Upon arriving, the waitress informed us that payment was only possible in cash. She reassured us that my partner could go to an ATM after dinner. However, while I was still eating, they brought the bill and insisted my partner go to the ATM immediately. Despite our plan to pay after finishing our meal, the owner pressured him to leave, saying, "She is an adult and can stay here and finish her dinner alone while you get the money."
This insistence on separating us while I was still eating made the whole experience extremely uncomfortable. My partner went to the ATM and then they started turning off most of the lights and told other guests to leave, leaving me eating alone in a dimly lit room. When he went back, two waitresses followed him around the restaurant to ensure payment. We paid and the waitress turned away without bringing back the change, which I had to request.
Moreover, they turned off all the lights while we were still at our table, signaling us to leave. This happened within 45 minutes of our arrival. No one informed us that the restaurant was closing soon, otherwise, we would have chosen to...
Read morePros:||Clean||Cheap||||Cons:||Across from a very popular, VERY loud bar. One night, they had live gypsy music. It was excellent music but...||Had to close the windows to sleep but no fan to cool the room down.||The bathrooms are not attached to the rooms. This was not at all clear in their website. THERE WAS NO LOCK ON THE BATHROOM DOOR!!! When I asked for one, the owner told me that the bathroom was mine alone. I explained that that didn't matter - I needed a key. He then explained that because I was the only one in the whole wing, I could just lock the door to the wing. Which worked out fine because nobody else was there. I'm not sure how we would have resolved it if there had been anybody there.||The curtains in the bathroom window were about one foot too short. So people across the courtyard could see in easily. I hung a towel over the window.||All the light bulbs in the hall were burnt out.||Three of the four bulbs in the light fixture in the room were burnt out.||Only one of the nightstand lamps had a bulb (but it did work).||The fridge was so loud, I had to unplug...
