We went to Travellers on Saturday and had a great dinner with a nice and friendly service. We went to the restaurant a little bit after 8pm and unfortunately by the time we wanted to ask for desert the kitchen was already closed (9pm).
Because we had such a nice experience we went back yesterday, Sunday, around 8pm and the waiter was very rude, we asked for table for two when there were tables free and he shouted at us saying that was not possible to eat anymore, only have drinks.
It is acceptable that maybe the kitchen closes earlier on a Sunday than on other nights but we couldn’t see it clearly written anywhere that the kitchen is closed by 8pm, only that the place is open until 11pm.
The treatment received was not a good image especially in front of other customers already eating. One other customer kindly tried to offer us her table as she was finished yet the waiter yelled at her saying that the establishment doesn’t cook anymore.
This is the reason for the 2 stars, if we didn’t have come back and only had the experience from Saturday I would have given a 4 or a 5, but can’t pass through the way the waiter spoke to...
Read moreWe had only one meal to enjoy in Český Krumlov, and after some deliberation, we decided to visit this restaurant. The prices were reasonable, and the food was generally delicious. The interior, which gave off an old-world charm, was also quite interesting.
However, when it came time to pay, they added a 10% tip to the bill without asking me. I was briefly away in the restroom, and they charged this amount to my 12-year-old child without any prior discussion. As busy travelers, we appreciated the prompt service and good food, and I was more than willing to leave a tip. But the fact that they decided to include it without any communication left a sour note.
We live in a region where English is commonly spoken, and my child attends an international school and is fluent in English. A simple question would have sufficed, and I would have happily left a tip with a positive feeling.
If you're reading this, I hope it encourages you to have more confidence in your food and service. Please avoid adding tips without asking in...
Read moreI come in and I can see no waiting staff. After a good 15 minutes a very rude waitress asks me what I want to order. She doesn't get it the first time and I put it on the language barrier. Then I repeat and she actually gives me a sigh as if she's annoyed or discouraged. At that point I'm already upset. She brings me a beer without even making eye contact.
Then comes in another waiter that brings me my food. And he is smiling and charming and makes sure his not disturbing me as I was on my phone drafting a very different review. I see him walk by and that same jolly, but professional attitude is carried out with every customer he interacts with. I ask him for the cheque and when he brings it my bills seem to be stuck in my wallet. He's patient and smiling and made me feel as though that was no big deal. Because it wasn't. I tip him well, specifying it's for him. I hope that went to the right person.
My food was good, not amazing. Price was ok, not amazing. And service, well, I sure hope you stumble on to...
