Location, location, location! Mohammed and Mustafa and staff are lovely and the best thing about this is location. Also, AC is great and hot water in shower, all really good things. Splurge and get the balcony, because if you get the $15 room, it’s an inside room - read everything carefully. But the balcony gives you breakfast with the pyramids. A couple of doors over there is heaven‘s lounge which you can get beer and alcohol at which is lovely to spend the evenings at with wine under the pyramids. You will get nothing of that here. I do have a bit of a bone to pick with trip.com because they didn’t do their research as there is no restaurant, there is no bar and there is no pool or gym in this place, which is why I downgraded the amenities. However if you were going to Giza for the pyramids, this is the place. Yes it is right behind the camel and the horse staging area so from 8 o’clock in the morning till quitting time which is 4 o’clock in the afternoon, you will have the authentic experience. If you do not like trash, if you do not like dust, if you do not like smells, you should probably just not be coming to Egypt in general! Because it is everywhere. However, if you want the authentic experience at the base of the pyramids, this is the place. Oh, and the Internet is crap… So just make sure you have a really good cellular plan because it’s no better anywhere else in Egypt either. From our experience, and we have traveled everywhere, the left over British colonies just don’t have a really great Wi-Fi...
Read moreMy mum and I really enjoyed our week stay here. On arrival we were greeted my Mohammed and he helped us with our bags to the room and made sure we were fed. The view of the pyramids is incredible, even more so that you can see behind the scenes in the morning by watching the camels/horses start their day by heading to the pyramids. The room was a good size and was clean. It had a good sized wardrobe, two full length mirrors, TV, aircon and fridge. We were offered to have our room clean multiple times but we didn't think we needed it. We had croissants and orange juice for breakfast and were given the choice to have it in our room or on rooftop. Mohammed really looked after my Mum and I. We arrived to Egypt having nothing booked and with his help, we were able to book: The pyramids with a one hour camel ride, Fayoum dessert ride, Mohammed Ali mosque, Hanging Church, Civilisation museum and even a trip to Luxor to visit Valley of the Kings and other things -all for a reasonable price and all very safe and well organised. When visiting the local supermarket and shops, Mohammed kindly came with us to ensure we weren't heckled by locals (which happens often). We will definitely visit this hotel again. Thanks to Mohammed and all of the staff here for making this...
Read moreWe booked here because of the closeness to the pyramids complex, our room was nice sized, lovely a/c system, room was clean and comfortable and the staff were a pleasure, even sending one of the lads out with us to walk down town as everytime you leave the hotel you get accosted by beggars, fair enough its a poor country but there is no need to hound the life out of us tourists to the point you forget what you went out for, its a shame really as we never got to do all we wanted in Giza as it was like running the gauntlet just going to get dinner every night. When we return to Egypt in January we will have another night or 2 here as we had a lovely view of the pyramids and sphinx and like I said the staff at the hotel were a brilliant bunch, nothing is too much trouble and even to the point that they will go to the shops for you if you want to just sit and chill on the roof terrace.. Thanks mustafa, mohammed and the rest of the team for making it that bit easier on...
