I’ll start with the good: The VIEW of the pyramids is definitely the best. We had a room with a little balcony overlooking the pyramids of Giza. Also the view from the rooftop where you have breakfast. It really is just unbeatable. 👌🏼 The lady at the reception was very friendly and welcoming from the moment we stepped in.

But then the bad: We couldn’t sleep. We stayed 2 nights (we were supposed to stay 4), the first night there was a party and so it was noisy until about 11pm. Then around 4am we woke up to the staff cleaning - banging the mop, we could literally hear the water dropping and the mop being squeezed. The noise of the street is also right in your ears, no isolation at all. Street dogs barking, and just in general busy because the pyramids are right there at your doorstep. Reception called our room at 10pm. The second night we heard the noise from the light show also until around 11pm, then we were woken by the staff at 3:30am(!!). Around 5am we could not stand anymore and my boyfriend told them to stop but they just laughed and continued. We checked out after the 2nd night. When we complained about the noise we were basically told ‘don’t come during Ramadan’ The hotel basically is just not built for the rooms to be quiet and they just don’t seem to be considerate about it. There was barely any water pressure to take a shower and to be honest the hotel doesn’t look brand new. The tap was falling apart, the bed was not really comfortable. Breakfast was okay, but they told us the first morning that they didn’t have coffee, but the second morning there was, however you get charged for it as you only have 1 free drink with breakfast. 🤔🤦🏼‍♀️ They scammed us with the tour, we were told everything was included and that we could get inside the pyramids, but we had to pay extra for it when we got there. (We got the money back for that though, as we complained.) They also prioritized the shops where obviously sales were encouraged, and we got to the pyramids last where we were rushed as they were closing soon. We were promised a panorama camel ride but there was no time for it anymore so our guide, Omar just asked them to take us down on the camels to the parking. 5 minutes camel ride down. 😒 Omar was trying to help though as much as he could, through the day but we just felt we had to pay for just even breathing air. Everyone tries to hustle you for everything. Omar even tried to smooth the conflict between us and the hotel we rented appreciated that. Nile sunset dinner cruise we got from the hotel was definitely not worth the money, we could swim faster and further and the show was mediocre. I used to work on cruise ship so I know what I’m talking about. It’s not the hotel’s fault I’m just mentioning it as we purchased through them. I’m sorry I have to write such sour review we were so excited about this place and it just didn’t meet our expectations not...

Place with huge potential. The view is amazing, I mean it in every aspect of this word, rooms are new and the staff is really friendly trying to make our stay the best possible but there are areas that should be improved.

Let's start with overbooking the same room. We booked 2 months in advance a suite, after 1 month we found out that out hotel no longer exists on the booking and zero information received. I found it under totally different name and booked our room again as it was shown as free (so we had 2 reservations confirmed for the same room at the same time). During that time they changed their name 4 times on booking and each time confirmed to us via message that everything is okay.

Secondly please note that for all the suites they have the same pictures on booking and in reality there is only 1 suite and 2 smaller ones which doesn't have the view you expect. So you never know which one you will get in reality. They even tried to give us the standard room while we paid for something completely different.

We end up with 1 night in Pyramide suite and 2nd in the one we resereved which is called Sphinx suite (if you want the room from pictures use this name while talking to the hotel I think this will help you to avoid our situation).

Both ways, we were made to cancel our reservations on booking so they are not going to receive there feedback and this is why they have rating 10 and on google 3.

The rooms itself are nice and have a nice view however the more time you spend in the room the more you see that the cleaning should be improved.

Breakfast was okay with nice view on the top deck, but waiters barely speaks english so it was hard to get a coffee with milk or spoon.

When you are paying such money for the premium room you are expecting premium service as well, if not for the view then in our opinion you can stay for better money elsewhere...

The views both from the rooftop and our Sphinx Suite exceeded our expectations! By far the best in Giza. From the moment we arrived in Cairo our airport transfer was smooth and we were met with the amazing Mira at check in. Her level of service and hospitality is exceptional! We had also stayed at Mena Marriot (a five star hotel in Giza) and I can honestly say that Shadow Inn was my favourite. Mira provides a truely 5 star hotel level of service and care and the views made this hotel my top pick. The restaurant and staff at Shadow were also amazing! Incredibly personable and friendly. The type of experience where the staff know you by name and know how you like your coffees and what you want to drink before you’ve even asked. A true “Inn” type experience rather than a large hotel chain which I loved. Mira also made it super easy to book guides and drivers and the quality of guides they provide are 10/10. We had a full day tour with Ahmed Asharf who took us to Saqqara and the Pyramids and we were so grateful to have a guide who was so passionate, informative and fun! We were in Giza to EXPLORE and take in the sights and activities, so room quality or laying by a pool all day wasn’t high on our list of priorities for this part of our Egypt trip. The bathroom amenities (body wash/soaps etc) could have been better, especially after a day of exploring the pyramids and sightseeing, but apart from that our room was great and in line with what we had expected anyway so we really have no complaints. If you’re wanting the best view and best customer service in Giza I would 100% recommend...

🔥 Absolutely the WORST hotel experience of my life. This place is a scam, especially targeting foreign travelers! First of all, the photos online are a complete lie. The rooms look nothing like what’s advertised. Instead of a bright, cozy space, we got a dark, humid, disgusting box. The sheets were dirty, the walls moldy, the air smelled awful, and the bathroom looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. No towels, no water, no toilet paper — nothing. It felt less like a hotel and more like a trap. Then there’s the staff attitude — unbelievably rude and careless. When we politely asked for help, the receptionist just said “wait a moment” and never came back. After an hour, still nothing. We asked again, and they gave us a death stare, as if we were annoying them. That’s not hospitality; that’s pure contempt. The most suspicious part? I strongly believe this hotel deliberately overbooks rooms and scams guests. We paid for a “room with a view,” but got shoved into a windowless cell. When confronted, the front desk flat-out lied, saying it’s the same type. Other guests were also arguing about the same issue — clearly this is how they operate. The whole place is dark, creepy, and unsafe. It honestly felt like they prey on tourists who can’t fight back. ⚠️ Do yourself a favor — don’t even think about booking here. This isn’t a budget hotel; it’s a fraud in disguise. Spend your money somewhere that respects you as a guest and as a human being.

I recently stayed at the Shadow Pyramids Palace and had mixed feelings about my experience. On the one hand, the view from the hotel is absolutely stunning. You can see the pyramids and the Sphinx right in front of your eyes, which is amazing. The rooftop area, with its breathtaking view of the pyramids, is definitely a highlight. However, the location is not so appealing. While it’s marketed as a tourist area with many small hotels nearby, the outdoor space around the hotel is unfortunately quite filthy. Additionally, I encountered some issues with cleaning and maintenance inside the hotel. Although it may look appealing in photos, the construction quality appears to be subpar, with very cheap materials used throughout. On a positive note, the staff was friendly, and the young lady who managed breakfast was particularly kind and polite. The breakfast itself was decent, which added a small positive touch to the stay. When considering the value for money, I wouldn’t rate it highly. The beautiful pyramid view is the main draw, but there’s not much else offered in terms of amenities or quality. Overall, while the view is spectacular, the hotel needs significant improvements to justify the cost.
